it would fit with gareth's destroy all monsters sequal idea, maybe after the aliens lost their facility were they were cloning monsters, they travel to Godzillas universe to take advantage of the monsters already there and pherhaps start colonig them. now would jaegers be involved? maybe, maybe not. im not sure how jaegers could come to Godzillas universe anyway.
The sad thing about this and 98 godzilla's advertising....they always keep Godzilla's design close to the chest. They'll probably keep that, and the two monsters under wraps until the very end. I'm hoping for at least a face shot about to incinerate something with an Atomic Breath, showing the full level of destruction this movie holds.
I hope they show one of the other monsters.
I am not sure that is a crater. In the original Gojira, after his rampage, Tokyo is completely on fire and destroyed from Gojira. In this movie there are two other monsters, at least, right?
That battle could do alot of damage. Another reader suggested that Godzilla in the trailer is revivingh from a military attack that could be a MOAB. The newest MOAB's are over 37,000 lbs and can destroy something like half a dozen football stadiums. Perhaps two or three of those were used to attempt to kill Godzilla or his enemy or both.
We could also, though I hate to think it, be seeing the end of the movie. Godzilla survives...
I wouldn't put it past studio types who make trailers to reveal the end.
O could be for origin, but then "to" might not fit well
could be a nuke or godzillas nuclear pules
HOLY CRAP! i did not see that, i expected it in the movie but never noticed it in the poster, nice find! the only thing other than a nuke that i could see doing that would maybe be godzillas nuclear pulse.
I looked at the full size of the new poster that has this scene and I must say... WOW! Great catch, a Nuke must have been used!
Now the question is... did the Military do this or Godzilla?
Godzilla's back baby and he is ready to set the world on fire!!!!
Can't wait for this movie. If the movie is as awesome as this trailer, its going to be epic!!!!
True Batman,i get what your saying, but there will obviously be some science fiction elements to this movie, i mean the movie is going to be about a giant mutated atomic dinosaur. realism will be appperant in the human reaction and response to Godzilla. as far as technology to change organisms goes, it does exist. the public already knows about artifical DNA, or XNA. who knows how much we could actually alter something, the millitary usually has tech far in advance to the public, infact they had something similar to the internet two or three decades before the general public did. besides, why wouldn't tests be conducted on a newly discovered organism, especially one from an unfamiliar ecosystem? as far as M.U.T.O.s intention go, they could be a little bit of both theories.
Hello I'm new, but I think that those underground cavern could have where either Godzilla has been sleep in suspened animation or Where The M.U.T.O. find and create those Muto monsters.
I see the same images. Is the second one supposed to be zoomed or altered?
Well, I wouldn't advise posting it here to be honest. We've had several members post it here when it leaked and WB is on this site like white on rice. Within 2 minutes of me making this post (thinking it would've been okay), I got an email letting me know they'd be removing it.
So, if you did post it - it wouldn't be up for long. So, I suggest holding off until WB officially releases it.
But to answer your question - the text editor has an "Insert" tab, clicking that will let you insert videos. Copy and pasting embed code, that kind of thing.
guys i think i might have figured out the lettering to M.U.T.O
Monsters

To
O?
Im still trying to figure out what theo stands for. message me with some thoughts of what it could be.
Unleashed, why its the only game i played exept save the Earth but in my mind unleashed is better, it has more monsters and better gameplay and story. But i didnt like how every monster was forced a ranged attack.
how does some one post vids on here i got the comic con trailer that i want to post
I thought the storyline was good. They shouldn't have called it Godzilla though- because THAT was not Godzilla for all the reasons above.
I wish I could share your enthusiasm guys, but I can't.
Godzilla is not going to be over 700' tall. That building that you see in the photo above is not the same building as the one in the trailer, nor are their sizes properly comparable because you never see exactly how tall that skyscraper in the trailer is. You don't know what height the soldier is as he approaches it. Godzilla himself is in the background and being slowly eclipsed by it as the soldier falls which tells us that the skyscraper is a fair bit larger than he is. Even if it's only a few stories, Godzilla is clearly smaller than that final skyscraper in our view.
I have the trailer up right now and have it paused on the only truly clear image of Godzilla going through the city whne the lightning flashes, and you still can't see the ground nor exactly how tall some of the other buildings are to properly judge distances or altitude. Godzilla's size is a complete mystery at this point, but 779' tall is outright ridiculous. I don't know where you got that idea or why, but he's not going to be that tall. Even Gareth Edwards stated that he's going to be the tallest to date, but that his height would not push too many boundaries.
From what little is visible in the trailer, a much more accurate estimate based on what buildings we can see clearly from the soldier's point of view and where we can speculate the ground to be based on the smaller visible buildings around them, a better estimate would be between 380-450 feet tall.
Why do I say that?
There is what appears to be between a 30-35 story building off to Godzilla's left as he walks forward towards the end of that bit of the clip. Again, because we can't see the ground there is no way to know for sure how tall that building is. It could be larger, it could be smaller. But as Godzilla approaches he is clearly taller than that building I mentioned, but not by more than about 60-80 feet. That said, Godzilla will be hard pressed to top around 450' at max.
779'? Not so much. Even taking in the suspension of disbelief for the fact that a Kaiju even exists in this movie, let alone be able to support its weight and walk around, any Kaiju at 779' would simply be crushed under its own sheer weight as would any real Kaiju over a certain size. Godzilla is no exception to this fact, no matter how much we love him.
Type in oxygen destroyer and you wil get a bunch of random codes then it will say SERIZAWA (HOLY SH*T)
This Godzilla movie is going to be realistic, experimenting on a biological organism? Sure, maybe in a sci-fi movie. We don't have that type of technology. I think the goal is to eradicate the mutos, while keeping it covered up so no one knows about their existence. They were most likely created/awakened from the same A-bomb that created/awakened Godzilla.
The final design reminds me so much of the millenium Godzilla.
What i like about it. They called it gojira and then the stupid reporter named it godzilla.
Disgrace
I'm not sure it's on the internet at all at this point, I only had it because I was able to download it before Warner Bros could take it down when it was leaked a few months back
Where can I find the comic con trailer?
@Chrispicard That'd be awesome if you did that! I'd love to get the video out there so more people can see it, but Warner Bros just took it down off my youtube. Do you know any way around that?
HANK YOU!!!!!
The problem with this thread is that you cannot realistically compare one franchise to another. They will always have different elements, different "realities," different fans.
Comparing one movie franchise to another is basically the same as comparing an Oreo to a Chocolate Chip cookie. Both have a different look, a different taste, a different fan base.
Godzilla will always hold a more worldwide appeal than Spiderman will, as Spiderman is an American comic book hero. While most of the world knows about him, he's not as internationally respected for symbolism or achievement. Not only is Godzilla older, but he's by far more interesting because there is no way to truly know about him. You can learn everything about Peter Parker and Spiderman by reading the comics or watching the films, but what do you truly know of Godzilla other than the fact that he's a Kaiju?
Where does he truly come from? What exactly is he? How intelligent is he? What does his bone structure really look like? What do his internal organs look like? What do his muscles look like? How much is muscle and how much is fat? How does he produce the radioactive breath? Is there some kind of special gland or organ that allows it to be produced? Does Godzilla have the kinds of emotions and thought processes that allow him to feel "threatened," "scared," "angry," "happy," "vengeful," and all of that?
In the end, Godzilla will always be more interesting and more appealing because there will ALWAYS be a sense of mystery. With Spiderman, you have a cool superhero, but you know too much about him for him to hold your attention almost indefinitely.
That's one of the reasons that most Godilla fans are so attached to Godzilla. They're still learning about him. They're still trying to discover truth from fiction regarding the monster because everything about him is grey area. You don't have that with Spiderman.
@Whatradioactivity! - I love the edit you made! If it's not too much trouble, I'm going to make a new topic to feature it and point people to you for the credit. I think a lot of fans would find this interesting. :)
@**AL** - I contacted WB asking if it would be okay to post the Comic-Con footage again, which was used as our homepage background here. Just waiting to hear back from them.
KINGOFZOMBIES, that makes a lot of sence, pherhaps they are also trying to exploit the creatures, expiramenting on them, and stuff like that.
I don't think people have forgotten the cultural and historical reasons for the Godzilla movies - that aspect of these movies were not part of my point. But, it was that "campiness" that made Godzilla so likable to so many. It was that campiness that drew people into what could be a reminder - and forwarning.
I also don't think the "campiness" or the poor dubbing is a bad thing - at all. It made the movies fun. I can handle a serious Godzilla story - or one with some humor.
I think they are trying to build underground labs/armory, for investigate/kill the Mutos.
I bet this is Japan's reaction to the new godzilla trailer

then of course you got some of the people that hate the trailer, so this is for them:

I for one am digging the trailer BUT I think prefer the comic con leak trailer than this one but that's just me
zilla was pathetic as a godzilla, ive heard it said that it would have been fine as the beast from 20,000 fathoms and i agree. also, despite what some thinck, zilla was a far less realistic design, even at its lower wight than any godzilla, it's legs were simply not thick enough to support it. granted, the classic godzilla designs arent realistic, but their thick legs and tripod stance is closer to reality. This new design however, is epic.
good work at putting them all together! :D
I typically don't count the dubbing as a flaw with these films. That's on the American distributors or the international versions, not the original filmmakers.
And while I agree some of that is why the series is popular and endearing, it's a notion that undermines a lot of the earlier films which were pioneering sci-fi adventures for the Japanese film industry back in the day.
The 1960s generally has very good movies, with creative screenwriters and Eiji Tsuburaya pushing the visual effects of the genre into new places. It was never about being realistic, but rather creating its own presentational world that was sufficient unto itself.
It wasn't until Tsuburaya's death that things really took a turn for the worst in the 1970s. That decade got really goofy. The series sort of made a comeback in quality in the 1980s, but the 1990s Godzilla movies probably carry some of the worst script disasters of the series. (although I still enjoy them greatly) Meanwhile, the Millennium series is just kind of... "there".
But there is a much deeper rooted cultural and historical reason these movies, and its genre, were popular beyond the campiness. It's a shame people seem to forget that.
I don't count the 1998 movie as a Godzilla film so it typically gets ignored on any list I make. For me the worst of the worst will always be Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla. The movie was a screenwriting nightmare, the music by Hattori often didn't work, Kawikata's special effects were at his lowest and it attempted to appeal to too many people...
@whatradioactivity, I like what you did with the official trailer combined with the leaked trailer ^-^
@ Chris, yes there are diferences in the head and spines, Is beyond of the angle we are looking the big G; but I woould have the chance to watch the leaked trailer again , is somewhere in my computer but a good soul could post it in here?
Okay, I typed in DOOR and this is what I got in return (Image below).
Interesting especially the word incubation.
