@DURATOK That size comparison isn't even close to being accurate. 150 meters isn't over twice as tall as 100 meters. And how big Godzilla looks compared to that building in the trailer means nothing, since the film makers obviously care nothing about being completely accurate in how big he is relative to other things, and we don't know if that building really is the one everybody thinks it is anyways. The fact that the director has outright stated that the new Godzilla will only be barely taller than previous incarnations trumps any building height comparisons the fans can come up with.
No. There is no bridge between this Godzilla and the previous Toho Godzilla movies at all really. Sure, its a NEW VERSION of TOHOS GODZILLA. But not that same thing. Just as Batman from The Dark Knight isnt connected to the Batman from the comics. So this can just be considered the "Legendary" series. It is its own universe.
i will never understand peoples love for mothra
I don't think the F-word scene is played uncensored anyway...
why not just call it, the Legendary series?
I wasn't asking for an R rating. I was upset that PG-13 movies could have censorship. We aren't talking about sex scenes either. Godzilla Final Wars was censored because of the F-word battle between a Cop and a Pimp. I was hoping that this new Godzilla movie would be uncut regardless of any rating from MPAA.
Well I think the movie industry has grown so much over the years and I expect them to be greatt. The kaijus in Pacific rim looked amazing I expect godzilla to be the same I'm very excited to see his atomic.breath :)
There is no reason to make a Godzilla mocie and R pacific rim was pg-13 and thqt had cussing and blood
Well yeah not a happy ending for the humans. Hahaha
This has been brought up before if memory serves.
I don't see why this would be considered a part of the Millenium series. This movie has no ties to any other Godzilla series as far as we know.
By 'Millenium Time' do you mean it takes place after the year 2000? If so, we'd have a little less than a thousand years of 'Millenium Time' Godzilla films.
Something to keep in mind however is that size inconsistency for Godzilla isn't an unknown thing. While the most infamous example would be Godzilla '98, Toho has admitted to doing the same.
At the end of the day, whether he's 300 feet or 800, you really shouldn't let that aspect ruin the movie for you.
@Durpoo4,
While that is indeed true, he didn't specify that film was his only reference.

@Joseph Hostage,
There's plenty of great PG-13 movies out there.
I'm not certain what the issue is, were you hoping for an R? Seems completely unnecessary.
Maybe Godzilla,s first apperence might be attacing the japanese
I agree hedgehog but only to the extent that the tristar thing will be an issue...
Kiryu would probably win if he didn't go haywire ...I mean he is basically a cyber Godzilla....that absolute zero cannon could finish biollante off but he could last ....
Well I mean it's like taking a movie then putting it in a movie about a different version of it...wtf..
Gareth Edwards said in an interview, that Godzilla will be this legendary beast that people claim to have seen, made movies and drawing, however the real thing is beyond discription, force of nature like a Hurricane.
Well his designs got better overtime in my opinion...in each series it was like he was slowly changing ...like he evolved or adapted....this showed greatly at the beginning of the showa series and all throughout the heisei series...I wonder if this Godzilla will do the same....
I mean this so far seems like a mix of Godzilla vs destroyah and the original... which is interesting since they're connected
@GOJIRA2K Always 2 is a Toho movie which starts with a dream scene of 1954 Tokyo being attacked by Godzilla. The movie is totally different from Godzilla, but I've heard it's a good film.
Its not a roar, it's more of like a little growl, but you can tell it's from a giant monster. And it's at the very end of the movie, after all the credit's, even after the first post scene In the movie.
