As some of you might now, one of our resident members, KaijuGroupie84 is a pretty damn good artist. He created a number of Godzilla and other Kaiju-related pieces on his DeviantArt page and today, I compiled some of them to make a fun little "Evolution of Godzilla" image. I also tried to somewhat compare the size difference between the new 2014 Godzilla (far right) and the original (far left). Now, this was totally a guess and not actually an accurate ratio comparison, so I don't want any debating on the ratios taking place, hahaha. This is just to give you a rough idea and offer something for more discussion: (click the image to view full size - it's BIG)

Why does Godzilla have abnormally short arms?  He was born at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan shortly after the atomic bombs were dropped.  He is the spawn of an irradiated marine iguana and an alien life form, hence his gigantic awesomeness.  He doesn't need long arms.  His jaws and tail do all the work.  He's an expert at stomping too.

zilla dakilla, your origins are ridiculously innacurate, your argument about his reason for short arms i good though. however, what i have seen from leaked toys and stuff is that his arms will not be useless

I admit it.  I made all that stuff up about his origins.  It just seemed a likely way that Godzilla came to be the big bad monster we all love.

Zilla Dakilla why do you think Godzilla became a big bad monster im starting too think you hate Godzilla. Here,s a reason why Godzilla is not a big bad monster. 1 he became popluar over the years and also he,s the King of all monsters DUH! 2 Godzilla,s arm will not be useless in the movie it,s just a fan art those are not the offical Godzilla arms!

I just came back after re-watching the original Gojira, not the Americanized mash-up, and I must say......Godzilla surely has evolved. However, almost all species rebound back to their roots when the right time has come, and this new Legendary Godzilla is no exception......I'm feeling quite depressed because of that movie, but in this particular case, it's a good thing, for we must all recognize the dread and horrors that we create for ourselves and our environments
