the orginal godzilla theme song
@SHAZOTHENHEDGEHOG I forgot all about that one, nice choice :)
Definately! I only had to listen to half to think it was awesome.
The Godzilla 2000 song of King Godzilla24.7 and ShazoTheHedgeHog's song.
@MikeyNamez
I am not to big on the "movie thats shown from the camera's POV" kind of movie. There are many ways that this movie could have been better.
I thought about this, so here it goes. I think when we cut to Elizabeth Olsen in her home, there should be an original Godzilla: King of the Monsters poster in the background.
@SHAZOTHEHEDGEHOG I agree it wasnt the best one ever but i really enjoyed how Abrams handled the viral marketing. Made it interesting and keep people talking even after leaving the theather. The shaking cam is bit ridiculous but i would LOVE to see a second one from the Military point of view thats filmed like a normal movie.
@MikeyNamez
Thanks man, i agree with you, but I think Cloverfield 2 is a bit much. It has no point for a sequel. The first Cloverfield was number #9 on my Top Ten Kaiju Movies.
@SHAZOTHEHEDGEHOG no need to appologize at all my friend, not trying to call anybody out were all family here in the forum.
Trust me I want this to be a huge success globally so we are ensured a second and maybe third installment. In order to do that though it is going to have to get people that are the complete opposite of you and me in the theather. This needs to appeal to everybody and the way its going to happen is through Bryan Cranston.
Alof of people that dont neccessary care of the Kaiju / Sci-Fi Genre are gonna hear about another godzilla movie and brush it off. But once that person hears that Bryan Cranston is in it they will start to take it more seriously. It just adds a huge fan base of people that will watch anything he is in regardless.
I'm hoping for the best and JUST MAYBE if it does well enough it will give some neccessary crediability to Kaiju movies in the US Spawning new ones and sequals (PLEASE GOD MAKE CLOVERFIELD 2!!!)
@MikeyNamez
Oh sorry, I didnt mean it that way. There are lots of great movies like Pacific Rim, R.I.P.D, etc. So I apologize.
If you watch the soldiers, as they dive through the clouds, the lightening creates
a silohuette of the Godzilla eye from the 70's classics. It's in the dead center, and was nothing but a brilliant touch.
As they fall through the clouds, watch for the final flash. It's bitchen.
Yeah, I geeked out again and again and again, and pause, and rewind and all that that we are allowed to do, and the trailer is just awesome!
It's at the 48 second mark.
@SHAZOTHEHEDGEHOG What i mean is in your post the way you made it sound is that there has not been a good movie made since shawshank redemption.
I do agree that it will be Great but there is a huge population of people out there that dont care and think of it as childish. Its never going to be avengers or batman popular to the masses. To us diehard G fans thats a different story.
Im just saying that yes this is gonna be AWESOME and everything we all want here in the forum but dont think its going to hit a billion dollars and being critically acclaimed all over the world. Pacific Rim didnt do very well in the US so i think if this is going to be really popular it hinges on Bryan Cranston.
This brings the "awe" in awesome.
Hey King Godzilla! I believe my favorite would be the unused theme in Godzilla: Final Wars
Here is the link if your curious about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eNDhVzFk3o
@MikeyNamez
What do you mean? Shawshankshank Redemption is a very good movie, and I believe this movie will be just as successful.
@SHAZOTHEHEDGEHOG ... dude i agree its going to be an awesome movie but i think thats taking it a bit far.
In my opinion, and possibly everyone elses; the plot, the CGI, the script, the originality, seems so amazing. This will be the next best movie besides Shawshank Redemption.
People gotta stop hating on movies they didnt even see yet.
Brian Cranston is going to sell this movie to people that dont care about Godzilla. There are tons and tons and tons of people out that that could care less and think Godzilla is childish. However, throw Walter White in the mix and you will bring his diehard fans from Breaking Bad along for the ride.
It was the best casting choice they could have made EVER. Pacific Rim didnt do very well domestically and Godzilla will not either unless Cranston kills it. I love the Big G but its a sad thruth.
@GTBetta35: That's a very intriguing theory! I hope it actually plays out that way, that Serizawa as a young man saw all this coming, was either in on, or knew about M.U.T.O, and is now watching all of this happen.
I was wondering how they would work that character, and the 1954 era, into the story; this sounds like a great way to do it...
I agree with Mattman59; great to watch in a movie, but nobody in their right mind wants to live with something like that!
This makes me think of all those nutjobs that want a zombie apocalypse to actually happen :D...
@ COOLGODZILLA1234 actually, he 360'd a comet out of the sky =P
Maby an action figure of another Toho monster in the background or in some rubble on the ground?
he does realize that Steven Spielberg changed the original plot from the book The Lost world and made the T-Rex go to the city because he as a kid loved Godzilla even in the movie he showed a group of japenese people screaming and the whole city scene was cool and all I just don't think it mastered it. This is just a Jurrasic Park fan boy wanting to tear down films that have any relevance to it. I loved Jurrasic Park the lost world. I really am not worried about this guy bashing on the film because he dosent state any true facts only some lousy opinions!
Yeah, it's just a lot of baseless opinions from one guy. I'm not sure how he thinks this trailer gives off the same vibe as the 1998 movie or Pacific Rim, but to each their own. I wish he could've explained why he thinks this, but because he does such a weak job defending his opinion I'm not really offended by it. There's really nothing to argue in this case.
Not that any of us should be anyway. We're fans of a niche franchise that's targeted by a large group in a country that doesn't understand the genre, its history or why it is like it is. There are even fans on this very board that don't get it. So I'm kinda apathetic for people who troll the franchise because they can.
To be quite honest, I would take what that Idiot in the article is saying with a grain of salt. He/She obviously doesn't know a thing about Godzilla and really didn't use any evidence or real argument about his/her reasoning. It sounded more like a set of opinions rather than a review.
mmmmmm? you could be right
The Marvel Godzilla! Thats right! I forgot about him! Gareth said Godzilla will slightly be the tallest in this movie. And all of us(Including myself) totally forgot about the Marvel Godzilla which is the biggest. If he DID including that Godzilla as well when he said that, then this means Godzilla could be over 500 feet. Hmm. I can only hope
456 damn!
They should have somebody that lookes like Raymond Burr in the 1954 section. (if there is one)
I know right! he is more than a dinosaur or lizard. Sadly, i also know people who think hes Chinese. :|
It'd be nice to see myself.
too many people thinck about the 98 Godzilla when they here Godzillas name. hopefully further marketing as well as the new movie itself will erase it all from memory. maybe people will aslo realize hes a dinosaur and not a lizard, that always annoys me.
slattern wouldn't stand a chance. he was hit by a nuke underwater and it seriously wounded him, Godzilla took that as well, after fighting nonetheless, and got stronger. in G vs Megaguirus, they tried to kill him with a black hole, A BLACK HOLE!!, and he was fine. Godzilla wins hands down.
I agree with SVANYA. The cast does seem like a good selection and the CGI is fantastic.
those f#cks shall burn
I think the movie looks like it will be amazing, great cast and great effects. We just have to wait and see, but honestly I think it looks very promising.
