This is a mystery until the movie opens!
Yep, I saw the poster for reference. Also the maquette and those pics of an (now unofficial) figure. I decided to put the tail raised because I thought that could be probable that Godzilla wouldn't drag it when he walks. It's just an impression the trailer gave me after those miliseconds of Godzilla footage, so I'm guessing here.
Congrats on first discussion and 700th discussion. What Easter Eggs I think should be in the movie are that there should be a rose on Dr. Serizawa's desk to hint at Biollante
And I could also be wrong, but still one of the most accurate depictions of him. Did you use the the tail from the SDCC 13 poster for your picture.
Thank you very much!
It's an interpretation, but I tried to be as faithful as possible, and after seeing some pics and leaks I thought his posture should be that hunched. And I'm not sure if his tail will touch the ground, I could be wrong...
But thanks again for the comments!
Wow! That is amazing! I've been waiting to see an image like this, you get an A++ Grade!
@Durp004
That's not a very reasonable explaination. By that logic Interstellar should be number 1 because it was released the latest. And these aren't movies, these are easily accessable trailers. If someone wanted to refresh their memory clicking youtube isn't that difficult.
Historically speaking, ComingSoon.net has been on point about hype when regulating these polls. And with the current Godzilla trailer getting almost as many views as the Spider-Man 2 trailer within their first 5 days of being released it adds weight to their poll.
On the same site, if you look at top previews, Godzilla is the number 1 most searched on the site and its stock is rising. Spider-Man 2 has dropped to number 3 and its stock is continuing to fall. Fast and Furious 7 has replaced it. (Most likely due to the recent tragedy with Paul Walker.)
Certainly optimism is too much to ask of more level headed fans, but cautious optimism is more than warranted here.
They have a referance of Biollante, like having a rose in Dr. Serizawa's room or having the scientist who created her in the movie.
Thats awesome. If you could do it with the tail on the ground and maybe a little less hunched over, I mean only a little bit, that could very well be what he really looks like. Amazing job.
mechagodzilla at the end like in a marvel movie they would have him appear for like two seconds as a test and the words kill would appear and the screen would fade to black
Kyero, you shouldn't tell people they are wrong in thinking that Godzilla will be the same height as the 555 Building in San Francisco. All we have to go on right now is the official trailer. And judging by the trailer, he is as tall as that building. And IT IS that building because it has a distinct roof shape. And of course they won't show Godzilla in the first wide shot of the San Fran skyline because they wanted to save the Godzilla reveal for the first-person view from the paratroopers goggles. As far as the only proof we have to go on, you are wrong until proven otherwise. No matter what Gareth Edwards said in the interview.
the monsters i hope to see in the reboot franchise probaly would be Rodan, Angiurus, mecha godzilla, a realistic take on ghidorah and possably mothra... i know....
actually it says Fast and furiousn 7 is in 2nd place and spidey in 3rd
hey chris i mght be able to help.
well the airjump is for when godzilla made landfall in america and then there is an accident at the muto factory and bryans cranston charecter watches his wife and other co-workers being eaten because he can do is watch in tears as they all die a horrific death. the one with ken wantnnbe is the mutos escaping and then all hell breaks loose and they decide to nuke the monsters and out of the dust comes OUT THE KING!!!!!!!!!
Yea I agree with @ CoolGodzilla1234 that we don't know what the 2014 Godzilla can do so we don't know if he's stronger than the 2004 Godzilla but I hope he is the strongest Godzilla as of now.
I made him that size to fit in that hole concept ^^
Godzilla is actually bigger than most Jeagers, because I read an article that stated that a Jeager was 250 feet tall, and G's largest size was 320 feet, so I think G would rip apart the Jeagers without any trouble but the kaiju at the end who was guarding the portal, now he would give a good fight!
TrueAmericanGodzilla, I'm not dissing on 2014 Godzilla, but size does NOT matter in a fight, Biollante was way taller than Gojira, but he still won, and Final Wars Gojira sniped a comet out of the sky, so until we see the movie, we do not know how strong 2014 Godzilla will be.
I'm not entirely sure what to believe. The director DID state that this Godzilla was the tallest, but only just barely. However, the trailer DID show him standing a little shorter than the Bank of America building in San Fran, which would make him significantly larger.
Guess we'll find out!
The bottom line is, regardless of what your so called "calculations" say, no one knows the height of Godzilla. But i will choose to believe what my eyes tell me from the trailer. And that's all i need to believe.
Thank you, I'm glad you appreciate my corrected version! Even with the American Godzilla at a more realistic size, it still looks like the Japanese Gojira (even the Final Wars version) couldn't win in a fight.
That seems like a good description. He is the biggest yet, but not too big either. If he had been all the way up too 700 i would have been kinda annoyed, thats just too much.
@Lone
Thank you for your feedback! Much appreciated!
I'd love a description of what you mean by ' to teach most of us a lesson; before we go too far'.
Is it violence against our fellow man? Is it to stop polluting our planet? Is it to respect nature?
A real Godzilla wouldn't help with this. No, we might not fight each other any more, but countless millions would still die. Pollution wouldn't ease up either, as we wouldn't just have factories working 24/7 to create weapons and defenses, but we'd also be dealing with a giant dinosaur that loves to vomit radioactive fire. That can't be good for the ozone. Godzilla seems to have as little regard for nature as anyone else. He'd kick down a mountain as readily as a skyscraper. He's just a pissed off guy.
Even a friendly, superhero Godzilla like he was in vs Megalon or vs Mechagodzilla would be bad news. Even if he were a good guy, he'd still cause inevitable and unintentional damage in his wake.
Unless we lived in a world with evil alien robots and horrible monsters but no champion to defend us, I can't think of any scenario where a real Godzilla would be a good idea.
Spidey will get crushed by the King Of Monsters, this is Godzilla's time!
godzilla will smash spider man in the box office
i will love to see all of the monsters in the sequals. they said its to much money to put them in there but i think there lying
if hes a superhero but i dont think so, his hobby is destroying buildings
i seen it already and everyone looks terrified
orga will be awsome but what about gigan
I'm aware that most of you will find comment ridiculous, but I really need to see Mothra make a come back. I'd love to see her get a redux!
I genuinely hope there is absolutely none of that in this new franchise (if it does become a franchise.
I don't agree about Godzilla being "absurd"; there was no absurdity in the original 1954 film at all, and judging from the trailer, that's the tone and atmosphere Gareth Edwards is creating for the 2014 film. Things only became ridiculous after the second movie, and from that point on the franchise became the butt of jokes.
Besides, I can't see Legendary putting big bucks into a new version of something that the general public has seen as totally ridiculous...
you compare this gigan to the 98 godzilla?
cmon, this gigan actually LOOKS somewhat like gigan, unlike 98 godzilla who didnt have any similiar characteristics to the original godzilla. except from looking like a dinosaur and having spines on his back. this gigan is just missing the buzzsaw, the cyclops-ish eyes and a longer beak..
and lets be honest... gigan is one of the godzilla monsters with the most silliest look, and it just wouldnt work in a modern movie.
i would actually like a modernized gigan like this first picture.. maybe have some sort of modern twist on gigans lazer (he did have a lazer rigth? i cant remmember) and the buzzsaw without changing too much.
i really think some older monsters should show up at some point. dont get me wrong id love to see a lot of new monsters but id also love to see some of my old favorites reimagined
An Island, a big egg, and two tiny Asian women, who sing the end credit song.
here here, but i think it's too late for lessons.
I saw the trailer in theaters, and I was sitting near the front of the screen; when the camera slowly moved upward, and showed Gojira turning around an releasing that trembling roar, I looked up at the King of the Monsters: the Destroyer of Worlds.
ORGA.
'nuff said.
Thats great! I mean, no offence towards The Amazing Spider-Man 2, i loved the trailer to that movie, and thats why this suprises me. But i guess thats only a good thing. Godzilla needs this to survive, Spider-Man still has atleast 70 years more before he dies out. Without this movie, Godzilla wouldnt have more than 30.
