No he got bigger in the present because they thought he WASN'T mutated and planned to use nukes to make godzilla, what they didn't know is that godzilla had already got mutated before the events of godzilla 1984 by a soviet nuclear powered sub un the 70's, (explained in godzilla vs king ghidorah)
it did affect him, didnt it make him bigger?
DUDE YOUR RIGHT AND WHERE CAN I SEE BOTH MOVIES
This topic is hilarious, haha! I especially like this one:

^ We've all had days where we felt like doing this. Hahaha
Marketing will pick up soon enough their is still plenty of time.
what is it my computer is not working
In my opinion, yes the movie folks do need more trailers and promotion for the film. It's still a couple of months away so they do have time for this to happen.
Just the attention they already have should, I would think, ensure that they would do well. Lots of Godzilla fans have been eager for a new film after Final Wars, not to mention a True American Godzilla after the 1998 version.
This thread is the funniest thing ever. XD
@Chris
The thing is, that article is little more than re-write of this one:
Besides Michael Bay at #CES2014 : biggest box office bombs + the VOD apocalypse
That article broke Jan. 6th, and the new one steals most of it word-for-word. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
On the reverse side, this site is saying Godzilla will be one of the year's box office champions:
10 Films That Could Rock the Box Office in 2014
Seems everyone is having a hard time telling or agreeing on how this movie will do-- it's like it's baffled everyone in the industry to run one way or the other on a stance.
As far as the marketing goes, I'm not sure what people were expecting at this point. It's being marketed just as strong as any other film and it's actually being brought to the forefront better than Pacific Rim.
If people were expecting an onslaught of posters, billboards, another trailer and tie-ins this early, that's just unrealistic. Look at it this way: Last week a ton of news websites took information from two magazines that wrote articles about Godzilla in mere days! Edwards and others announced a Godzilla comic on the way this week. Those are two major things in only two weeks folks.
X-Men, Captain America and Malificent haven't had that much pushed exposure. Transformers hasn't even begun its promotion. Godzilla's recieved more press than 300: Rise of an Empire and that comes out in a mere two months...
Exactly what was everyone expecting by now? I'm genuinely curious.
iz good
He only wants to help us!
^I've seen you post that before, but it's so vague and generic with its communication that you could essentially apply it to any forum. So I'm not entirely sure what the point is.

I've said it once-- and I'll say it again. This video sums up pretty much everyone on this forum.
Hopefully the marketing campaign will pick up for godzilla around March. It makes more sense to start throwing loads of money down on marketing closer to the release date, to keep hype fresh.
Let's prove this wrong c:
JESSE420 Wtf are you talking about. Yeah the sculpture ik, but its a fanmade sculpture and anything fanmade could look like anything so stop being a dick and if you have something really mean to say about it, just keep it to yourself. Why dont you try and make a good looking sculpture of how you want Godzilla to look like
do the japanese versions including the toho blu rays include subtitles.
Because they're cheap? Sony was on the ball for their Showa and Millennium releases, but that was after they finally realized there's a market for those who want the Japanese versions and decent quality releases. I'm still crossing my fingers we'll get a better re-release of these films this year backing the new movie.
why hasn't tristar released a better version of the movie, and when i mean better i mean better quality and on a stand alone dvd, and could a blu ray version be nice, the dubbing isn't that bad though.
I am curious, Jesse420, are you going to contribute anything else to the forum other than trolling hatred for the new Godzilla?
Oh, right... There's some sort of montage with it or something of that nature isn't there? It's been ages since I've seen the movie. My copy of the Japanese version got screwed up and I refuse to watch the english dub, so... there we are...
the first city he attacked was kyushu, then the futrianians mention to order ghidorah to destroy hokkaido, he then on screen attacks hiroshima then before he goes for godzilla he must have attacked any other city but isn't mentioned what cities.
To be fair, I only remember one city being attacked by King Ghidorah. It's been awhile since I've seen that film, does he attack other cities? Do we see it or is it just one of those things they state?
godzilla king of the monster
or any godzilla but not the new godzilla
should have a place in the game
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpdZwuyEmRk this video sums up pretty much everyone on this forum.
they should have a really bad earthqik
and all of the history of godzilla come fight
while the other monster try to fight off the godzillas
I cant take this serious. That song is ruining what little is left inside of my head.
Totally not official, I memorized the face, side neck, and gills and it doesnt match from what it looked like from the trailer. Even the dorsal fins dont match. But I do like the sculpt
there have been more than 10 of these threads since the trailer, you want answers, WAIT TILL THE MOVIE COMES OUT! or it might be on the prequel comic.
oh just to point out, out of all the heisei monsters, king ghidorah destoryed/attacked the most cities, where's the movies after had mostly one city attacked.
So... How many useless threads about Godzilla's height do we have now?
This Chart looks pretty good. I have it saved on my computer, but I don't know how to attach images yet.
And hopefully he wont SHIT HIM SELF either wile fighting the mutos. :O
LMAO as funny as that would be hopefully we wont see GODZILLA pissing on anything(transformers bumblebee spilling coolant) i mean this is suppose to be a dark and gritty movie.
Perhaps rivalry is the wrong word for either King Ghidorah or Destroyah-- "foils" might be a better noun in the sense of creatures trying to outdo another. (In that case I still believe King Ghidorah is the better represenative since he keeps coming back for more against Godzilla both within a single movie and amongst several.)
The problem is the ideas you described are there, but there's nothing onscreen to show this battle was any different from other Heisei battles. Changing the color of Godzilla's beam and look and "saying" Destroyah was birthed from the Oxygen Destroyah isn't enough. The stakes were never raised from previous battles: Just a lot of bumping into one another and beam spitting, like always. The backstory just wasn't enough to make up for a bulky, stagnant creature. That said, for a Heisei battle, it was more entertaining than the previous three films.
Was he as great of a threat as Godzilla in the movie? We'll never know, they don't bother to show or explain that. What would he have happened to a city had he attacked it? Would it had been any different from previous monsters? We won't know that either, he simply wen't into battle. But it would've been a great opportunity to show how dangerous he was and set him apart from other Heisei beasts from the audience.
There's an old adage in film that cites, "show don't tell." Destroyah is a case of "tell" relying on same'ole, same'ole to "show". Characters tell us he was awoken from the Oxygen Destroyer. He's a dangerous beast...etc...etc... But none of that really comes off the screen. At least no more than, say, SpaceGodzilla. Great ideas are one thing, but execution is the other half.
Now is Destroyah popular amongst the fanbase? Absolutely. I like the creature despite its flaws and enjoy seeing it in comics and video games. But so are a lot of other monsters. That doesn't make them iconic. I imagine he's popular due to the film's popularity which, in truth, was very gimmicky looking back on it. This is a movie I love, mind you, but that doesn't keep it from being near-fatally flawed.
still a very good sculpture.
The hilarious Ms. America pagent example not withstanding, that does make more sense. Still I would argue that these monsters aren't being "forced" on the fanbase if there was a generational cry for them from the beginning. You said yourself King Ghidorah and Mothra are used the most-- quite frankly the generational between them isn't large enough to simply be passed on from one curious fan to another, they tend to be cross generational with the amount they're used-- the exception maybe being the jump from Showa to Heisei.
It's an interesting argument for other monsters; the idea that if some were used today it might be different. Still, using the argument "fans make these monsters popular", I can't say I've seen a massive, collective cry for something like Megalon or most of the original Heisei monsters. I have for Gigan and (at least in America) Anguirus, but those two at least got some limelight in Godzila Final Wars after an annoyingly long wait.
But at this point we're debating the symantics on how popularity exists. I don't see how anything's been forced on the audience if there's a demand for it or if it's embraced. King Ghidorah has stood the test of time in the same sense Godzilla has. The unfortunate thing is both Godzilla and King Ghidorah's popularity are also part of a right-place-right-time scenerio that other monsters people have brought up were not privy to. Would something like Captain America had worked if it were released today a opposed to the early 1940s? Of course not, but it's endured all the way to today because of that initial success.
Can you please send me an HD file of this copy?? I'd love to print out a poster-sized copy and hang it on my wall!
