MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 5:14 PMWhen i saw the trailer the soldier was falling down he saw Godzilla and now we will see how tall he will be will maybe So one he was Very huge but no as huge as those buildings beside him so will this give us Information about Godzilla,s height?

True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 5:50 PMI was looking at the trailer myself to answer that question. At 1:14 or 1:15 minutes we see strange building top, which looks to around the same height as the American Godzilla. Again this Godzilla isn't right next to this building the viewer is falling towards, but the size seems to be around as massive as this building.
The building is 555 California Street building
This building is 779' (237.4 Meters) tall! If I'm right about my estimation, then the American Godzilla is around 779' tall!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 6:13 PMBINGO! american that was the building that the soldier saw i saw the teaser again and that is the right building. I hope your right about Godzilla being 779 feet tall. if Godzilla is 779 feet tall then the new Godzilla will be more bigger then the last Godzilla,s and the 1998 godzilla doesn,t count

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 4:52 PMI wish I could share your enthusiasm guys, but I can't.
Godzilla is not going to be over 700' tall. That building that you see in the photo above is not the same building as the one in the trailer, nor are their sizes properly comparable because you never see exactly how tall that skyscraper in the trailer is. You don't know what height the soldier is as he approaches it. Godzilla himself is in the background and being slowly eclipsed by it as the soldier falls which tells us that the skyscraper is a fair bit larger than he is. Even if it's only a few stories, Godzilla is clearly smaller than that final skyscraper in our view.
I have the trailer up right now and have it paused on the only truly clear image of Godzilla going through the city whne the lightning flashes, and you still can't see the ground nor exactly how tall some of the other buildings are to properly judge distances or altitude. Godzilla's size is a complete mystery at this point, but 779' tall is outright ridiculous. I don't know where you got that idea or why, but he's not going to be that tall. Even Gareth Edwards stated that he's going to be the tallest to date, but that his height would not push too many boundaries.
From what little is visible in the trailer, a much more accurate estimate based on what buildings we can see clearly from the soldier's point of view and where we can speculate the ground to be based on the smaller visible buildings around them, a better estimate would be between 380-450 feet tall.
Why do I say that?
There is what appears to be between a 30-35 story building off to Godzilla's left as he walks forward towards the end of that bit of the clip. Again, because we can't see the ground there is no way to know for sure how tall that building is. It could be larger, it could be smaller. But as Godzilla approaches he is clearly taller than that building I mentioned, but not by more than about 60-80 feet. That said, Godzilla will be hard pressed to top around 450' at max.
779'? Not so much. Even taking in the suspension of disbelief for the fact that a Kaiju even exists in this movie, let alone be able to support its weight and walk around, any Kaiju at 779' would simply be crushed under its own sheer weight as would any real Kaiju over a certain size. Godzilla is no exception to this fact, no matter how much we love him.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-13-2013 10:16 AMI believe our friend estimation on godzilla height is quite true. Lets assume that the building in 1:05 is not the same San Fransisco's bank of america sky scrapper (it have similar top though), then that building height will still above 600 feet. Why? Well because as our paratroopers freefall almost past its top, he still not open up his parachute (The lowest limit of parachute opening for HALO jump is 2000 feet on training and 800 feet on combat). Lets assume again that because this is ermegency, it's need to be taken to the extreme so it will be 100-200 feet lower than the limit (lets hope our guy doesn't break a leg when landing), it still 600+ feet.
BTW did you guys notice one of the flares, the one that near godzilla, it fall past below godzilla's head. If that flare still attached to one of the paratroopers leg and that paratrooper has not fainted yet (being that close to godzilla, yay) and also his parachute is not faulty, than it is safe to assume that godzilla is about 700 feet tall.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-14-2013 5:17 PMI can further prove that Godzilla will never be that tall, so listen well because you're about to learn something.
In the trailer we see at 56 seconds that the 555 building and the Transamerica Pyramid are clearly visible in the foreground with the HALO jumpers falling above them. If Godzilla was anywhere near the height of those buildings, let alone matching them in height, then he would be plainly visible in that exact shot as they fall upon the city.
There'd be no point in trying to hide him in the next shot as we see the POV of the soldier as he looks down at Godzilla. If Godzilla were 700'+ in height, he'd tower over just about everything in the trailer and would be plainly visible in the trailer's early sequences no matter where he was in the city.
You guys need to use more critical thinking skills when you examine these kinds of shots. It's simple logic. If Godzilla were 700+ feet tall, there would be no way to mask him in the city of San Francisco. There are only 21 skyscrapers in San Francisco which rise to or above 150 meters (492 feet), and Godzilla was not seen towering over a single one in that shot at 56 seconds. Again, no matter where he is in the city, standing at a height of 779' would make him plainly visible.
There's no way Godzilla will be 700+ in height.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-14-2013 6:11 PMI read something that said he would be nearly twice the height of the 90's Godzilla... that would put him between 150 and 200 meters which seems more accurate (likely between 450 and 600 feet leaning closer to 500, which is close to the size of the one Pacific Rim category 5 kaiju)

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-15-2013 2:31 AM@KEYRO you are pretty intense haha. I would really love it if Godzilla was over700 feet tall. It's just not realistic. I'm sad to say I'm with @KEYRO

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-06-2014 4:49 PMSo we finally find out. I must say I am disappointed that Godzilla is merely 350 feet when there was so much talk from the filmmakers about being the tallest ever. By 20 feet? Why bother to even mention size. Biggest kaiju bigger than Godzilla? Sad. Apparently the nuclear "tests" at French Polynesian islands were not tests at all but attempts to kill Godzilla. Godzilla, king of the monsters? It may well still be a great movie, but the false advertising of Godzilla towering over San Francisco as well as the size claims mean I've already got a problem with the director. If his mouth is any indication, the film won't live up to the reputation Gojira deserves.

Too bad this poster isn't accurate. I'd love a 1000 foot tall Godzilla.
