I think it would be cool if you used the speech from the Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer where Captain Pike is talking to Kirk about making mistakes and getting people killed.

I'm thinking that M.U.T.O is an organization and they are working on creating muto's, a little bit similar to the Megalon theory with a group holding a monster or in this case, monsters.

Honestly, if you really are a Godzilla fan than you should definitely be excited for this movie, especially compared to that 1998 film that Emmerich and Delvin wrote (Godzilla killed by fighter jet rockets...really?!?!). I mean I'm glad they were trying to be creative and different but geez give Godzilla some of his old school attributes. Anyway, enough about that movie, let's talk about why we should be excited about this movie considering the new official trailer and plot lines we know about so far...

1. The technology and graphics of todays films alone are gonna make this an amazing, edge of your seat kinda movie with vast battle grounds, major destruction, oh and some awesome sound effects as well

2. They doing Godzilla justice by going with a more original look (from what we can see so far, which isn't much, but who cares that only builds suspense and I am all for that) and a more original Godzilla in that it seems like he's gonna be pretty much unstoppable and an anit-hero, which are good in the sense of a Godzilla you can look forward to.

3. He's obviously gonna be facing other monsters, which whether they bring back some old school ones or new school ones, who cares because that just means he's gonna be good ole Godzilla...whoopin' ass and "saving the day" in a general sense of the word while still destroying pretty much everything.

4. They are actually putting a story line into this and developing the characters on top of all the other stuff listed above, which only means that the movie will have more backround and will be more interesting probably than almost all Godzilla movies because you'll get attached to the characters and it will only build up the plot and Godzilla himself even more. Plus, look at the cast of actors and actresses they got for this, for a Godzilla movie that is a solid cast!

5. It's a Godzilla movie...and like I said, if you're a true fan, need I say more?!?!

According to the interview with GE in Empire, all the other kaiju are entirely original and were created from scratch.

Now unless that's some kind of bluff (I doubt it) I think it's 99.9% certain that there will not be any other Toho kaiju in the film. Fanboys willalways see what they want to see and sites like this will toss rumours into the void to generate traffic (and get stung when it terms out to be bunk), but let's nail this "ooh Mothra is going to be in the film" on the head. Those are rescue workers in that image.

As much as Rodan is my favorite monster and I'd love nothing more than for the movie to have a monster paying homage to him. The claw that comes down isn't talked about on this(for obvious reasons that it doesn't back this up at all) and to compare the scene of the muto diving down to a pteranadon is stretching it as the head very obviously shows 2 projections that look like a pincer like mouth similar to mothra.

I'm one huge Gojira fan, but not everyone will like this movie. Also, not once have I seen some of the quoted comments you posted above, or anything similar. If and when trolls decide to come along our site, they'll be banned accordingly.

Stuff the haters. I hope one day Godzilla steps on all the feet of the people who hate on him. This new movie is gonna OWN. Can't wait! I hate it when people hate on the big G coz I been a fan since I was really little.

That being said, yeah Godzilla has an uphill battle in the public support department. 

I think we have definitely scored some victories in the past week, but the Godzilla skeptics and haters are still out there. I would focus more on positive promotion amongst the lukewarm or uninformed. Energy spent against the entrenched opposition is likely wasted. After all: 

Those are not the twin fairies nor is mothra coming into this film. Mothra isn't realistic enough to be in the franchise, mothra is more of a supernatural type of monster. This godzilla franchise is going to be taking more of the realistic language.

Chris ya did alright but there's one thing that you said that makes no sence to me is the fact that the flying muto is gonna be the big baddy for Godzilla to take on and I just cant buy that, also the centipede monster was removed and replaced with the eight legged mutos, but if you remember a while back Gareth said that there were only two monsters, now personaly I think he was lieing, and ill show you why.

Now in my personal opinion compared to what weve heard of the eight legged mutos, that is by far to large to be one of them, and it dosnt look like something the winged muto would have as an appendage, now I think this is the big baddy, and to me that looks like a very primitive gigan claw, now im not saying its gigan, but when I look at it I can clearly see some sort of metalic sheen in the claw itself, plus another reason I say that is because we clearly see some sort of energy discharge when it strike's the ground leading me to belive that on top of cutting with the appendage, it also carry's a concusive force of energy that could do some serious damage if it hit something, and the big reason I see this as the big monster is because we only see the tip of the appendage, so after it sinks in you realise that whatever that thing is, it could easily be the size of Godzilla, anyway thats how I see the monster situation.

I gotta say, from what I've seen through concept artworks and trailer shots, you did a pretty good job. So excited to see once he comes out!!

Nice speculation bro, I have my own one. I was thinking about it, my thoughts were that the Nuclear tests in the 50´s created new super-species, several governments and corporations chase these news animals and hide everything, they start to experiment with the creatures, using radioactive things to mutate them, trying to convert them in weapons, when they think they´re ready, they tested it; so they release one of these "weapons" and it destroys a whole city, contaminating it with nuclear radiation, like chernobyl; inmediately, they hide it saying that it was an earthquake or something; 15 years later, Joe Brody is studing in that place and discovers that it wasn´t a natural disaster, then he start further investigate, when he discovers it all, he confronts the M.U.T.O. organization / an evil corporation /  the government, and he tells them that he knows everything, then, the trailer begins.

Do any of you remember any more concept arts? Cuz that be amazing if all of them made it into the movie

Nautilus falls line in the draft sheet which leaked months ago, I don't see Godzilla dying. Hybernation is definitely an option. Perhaps they try bombing him after they submerge him in one of the giant sinkholes?

I'm also not keen on the Baby Godzilla concept. I would much rather them explain that there are pockets under the Earth that contain sparse echosystems, which contain massive, prehistoric creatures, and that Godzilla is one of a few different types. That would set up both Godzilla for a sequel AND an origin for any future Monsters.

I like what you've written! However I've always hated the baby Godzilla concept. The original and the '80's remake are by far my favourite of the films. In the '80's version they lured him into a volcano and blew it up in an attempt to make a tomb/grave before we hear a speech along the lines of "We fucked with nature and got our heads smashed in. Probably should stop doing that".
I know Edwards has spoken about wanting to do a sequel, so perhaps G man doesn't die at the end of this film. Hibernation, perhaps? 

i like how the general thought of godzilla in this film (since they are going back to the roots) is that hes just evil, but instead they turn one on us and make him an anti-hero where we need him to save us all.

He's the hero we deserve, but not the one we need right now, so we'll nuke him, because he can take it. Bcause he's not a hero, he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector, the dark kn- erm i mean the king of the monsters

This can be confirmed as fake by the release of the new trailer. This script says the bridge was torn down in a domino effect after Godzilla walks through it, but the trailer shows the bridge standing strong with only a small gap in it.

Indeed, I hope it doesn't reveal too much though. I like there to remain some mysteries by the end of the film. Something we can wonder about and debate on until the sequel(s) come around. Contrary to modern movie-goers, I don't want to be spoon fed all the answers. I want to think and use my imagination. It's what makes film so powerful and so memorable.

Dayum! I love speculating, but this is a very solid theory. I feel that the "Awakening" comic will definetely show us Godzilla's origin before the film, if it turns out to be even close to this it'll excite me for the film even more.

A quick web search reveals no other source for this info other than a con survey site claiming a member of the crew was "decapitated" along with a video saying "Watch the grisly footage here".
