The next Fest Godzilla short film is currently in production and Toho are letting fans contribute to the film's effects by partaking in a global crowdfunding campaign to help bring a new Burning Millennium Godzilla suit to life! Officially debuting on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026 this year at Godzilla Fest, the next short film in the ongoing Fest Godzilla series will be directed by Kazuhiro Nakagawa and will once again feature Burning Millennium Godzilla at the center of the film's plot.
The highlight of the Godzilla Fest 2026 announcement is a global crowdfunding campaign to support the creation of a new Burning Millennium Godzilla suit. The campaign will run through CAMPFIRE, one of Japan’s major crowdfunding platforms, and will be open for international participation across 82 countries.
Previous Godzilla Fest crowdfunding projects supported suit production for rival monsters, but this project puts Godzilla at the center.
In the previous film, Fest Godzilla II: Shinjuku Burning, Godzilla's new burning form was brought to life through CGI but for this year's production, the team is aiming to create a completely new practical suit that can perform throughout the film.
