Takashi Yamazaki, director of the upcoming Godzilla Minus One sequel aims to set a new precedent for the genre with his latest entry. The Japanese director has made the ambitious claim that Godzilla Minus Zero will feature cutting-edge and revolutionary visuals. During a recent interview with the Agence France-Presse (transcribed by Daily Sabah), Yamazaki mentions that Godzilla Minus Zero will feature Japan heavily despite the teaser footage showcasing New York's Statue of Liberty, and will introduce visuals not yet seen before in a Kaiju film:

I wasn’t able to do everything with Godzilla Minus One. So, one of my own new challenges is to put images and visuals on the screen that no one has ever seen before in a kaiju film.
He also emphasized the importance of seeing Godzilla Minus Zero in theaters – favoring a traditional cinema experience over at-home streaming:
I think [Godzilla] really needs to rely on certain experiences that we can only have inside movie theaters.
Throughout the interview he also highlighted his primary focus being on the film's story, not just stunning visuals. It sounds like Yamazaki is going to deliver another masterclass in Godzilla filmmaking this year and we can not wait for it!
