@Godzilla Himself, I wasn't too thrilled about how the line work turned out when I scanned it in, but I'm going to rework it and study his color a little more and hopefully have an improved version of it.
i would hope so
I have to say it: Warner Bros has been kinda stupid with the advertising campaign of their movies.
this fan art seemed pretty accurate to me
the trailer gives the best idea right now, if you missed the recent toy leak thats too bad, it gave the best idea of godzillas apearance by far.
if what you say is true, i am rather dissapointed. it doesnt make much sence to pass that up, tf4 is getting a superbowl trailer, thats going to be one of godzillas biggest competitors. so again, not an opportunity they should pass up
probably just a joke, this new godzilla will be so huge that it would be incredibly difficult to get him to even notice anyone let lone pursue them. the mutos however, i could totally see the smaller one hunting people and animals.
I do but there aren't any Godzilla videos on it... Just a few funny videos of my pets lol. Honestly I simply found that video by doing a Google video search for it. That's the same way that for months I was able to constantly access the leaked CC Godzilla teaser from two years ago lol.
excellent drawings! :D thanks Demplex
I really hope not. That would be extremely stupid for something that large to target people as a food source. I think it was a joke, but if not I'll really be disappointed that they added that feature to Godzilla.
Of coarse he should. Godzilla has been destroying famous landmarks in Japan. Why should he go easy on America, other tham the fact their making a movie on him.
@Gojifan02
You won't get infringement for saying M.U.T.O. By the way, "imfringemented" isn't a word.
Godzilla vs Destoroyh was very good, showing Godzilla fighting against his stronger enemy, even on meltdown. Also it was really well made an it was great, how Godzilla fight till his death to take Revenge for his son. Godzilla vs Orga was good, too.
I think he will walk slow, but with the ability to walk faster for a brief time.
It's a fake fan made picture but an awesome fan made picture. Mabye the surfer dude survives.
Mabye, (now this is just an idea) the M.U.T.O.'s lead Godzilla to the bridge and Godzilla (not aware of his suroundings) hits the bridge's road and makes the bridge colapse. Unlike in Pacific Rim, the kaiju axehead just destroys the bridge.
Im just afraid of getting copyright imfringemented. So, I'm not saying M.U.T.O.
Dude, just say Muto, it's not that hard sweetie. :)
Hey Demplex, you're an amazing colorist. Do you have a deviantart?
These are equisite. Truly well done.
I know people are expecting full bodies but this is pretty awesome.
This poll has to be being advertised largely on another site besides MTV. I watch mtv, the shows they watch the audience they cater to and there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that movies like Spiderman 2, Captain America 2, and Guardains of the Universe are being smashed by, for the most part, unknown movies.
Either the voting on this site is ridiculously voted by females, or this is being advertised on possibly all those movies own sites that those votes are for. There's no way the general public is voting on that poll.
Dropped back to 63%. Looks like the Apes are fighting back, kids. ;)
Godzilla fighting Anguirus in Godzilla raids again.
No beams, no kung fu, just sheer tooth and claw fighting always at eachother's throats. It was truly the best monster fight in the whole series in my opinion.
so Yes. The Godzilla in GFW is Junior. The opening scene is said to take place in the late 1990's while the main story occurs in 2032. While all the details regarding the setting and possibly new origins of some of the monsters has been axed from the final cut of the film by Ryuhei Kitamura to make the story open to interpretation, no one bothered to tell the editor this. As a result, any of the intended exposition from Wataru Mimura and Shogo Tomiyama has been lost, but in the opening scene it is still made explicitly clear that Godzilla is in fact Junior. You probably already suspected this when you saw the movie, but without the characters mentioning any history, it seems sort of... hanging. Like... why did they just show Junior, and why do they keep mimicking those shots? Because it's supposed to be Junior, that's why.
i feel bad for the surfer dude.
godzilla will love it. destroying buildings is godzilla's hobby.
this should of been longer, but it was cool.
godzilla vs keizer ghidorah, the end of the fight was awesome.
the king will descide.
Okay, so first and foremost let this be known to everyone who goes through these threads: Each Toho Kaiju comes with its own set of licenses which must be purchased in order for them to be used. The likelihood of Legendary, or anyone else, buying the rights to any and/or all of the other Toho Kaiju is almost nil.
Now, on to the topic at hand.
As far as future Kaiju, if the movie does well enough to warrant a sequel and indeed earns one, I'd like to see more original Kaiju from the creative minds of Gareth Edwards and other powerhouse creature designers. Originality is the key to success, which is why the Toho line did as well as it did during its run.
This, however, is a new franchise and deserves all new creatures to bring it into its own unique spotlight. Piggy backing off of the work of Toho is a recipe for disaster and should not be done. Taking Godzilla is risk enough, but just ripping off of Toho monsters is downright irresponsible and lackluster. A sequel should have all new creatures because it's an all new franchise starring Godzilla.
He deserves a new beginning as well as a new future. No Toho Kaiju besides him involved.
I've been working on a few new ones. I'm not too terribly thrilled with how the colored version of Godzilla himself came out, but I do like how the sketch turned out and as for the Battle picture between Godzilla and Talaghan, that is an old one that I made shortly after the I drew the second teaser comic.
Guys, Godzilla's speed has nothing to do with how big he is.
The key to his speed, or lack thereof, is his structure and the shape of his body. If the new toy is to be believed as official and close to the final design (if not spot on), then Godzilla will be more of a lumbering giant like he was in the 1954 film. Slow and steady steps, no real sway save for the natural lean from one side to the other that comes with all bipedal creatures. Every step we take gives us a slight lean to that side to compensate for the change of our center of gravity with the step. Godzilla will do something similar due to being bipedal. If Godzilla were quadroupedal, then he'd sway much more like a crocodile or an alligator because that's how they're built.
But this one is built bipedally, and as such he will walk in a very similar way to his original form in 1954.
The fact of the matter is that we don't know.
Since it's an integral part of the city, I doubt very much that it will be spared from destruction. It's also not in an area where it would be easily avoided for anything as large as Godzilla. If they do take it down, it will have to be done in a different way than in Pacific Rim. If Godzilla walks through it without really acknowledging its existence, then I'm satisfied because that's Godzilla behavior 101. He doesn't care what's there. If it's in his way, it's in his way.
Its a cool idea in all but............... I think that might happen in the movie. It just seems right for an american godzilla movie that takes place in the Pacific. I just have a felling that's gonna happen.
The third pic looks fine, even if it is incomplete. The only thing off about it is his spines.. They're too small.. or is that just me? Anyways, looking forward to see more. :)
And then this one is speculation of the design from the 2012 SDCC Proof of Concept footage:

I have two others that show more of Godzilla. Both are design speculations.
This one is a work-in-progress and will probably never be finished because my computer died (I use my sister's laptop now)
