MemberMothra LarvaeJan-12-2014 11:15 PMThe first one i really disliked. It sounded like a remix of a remix of a remix. I really did not like it.
The second was allright, but not really in the tone.
The third one litteraly killed me.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-12-2014 11:27 PMWow, WOW. No offense, but I really loathe these songs. This is the music people use when they're making horrible fan edits for their favorite movies and shows and just butcher the hell out of the thing.

AdminGodzillaJan-13-2014 12:55 PMA) If you saw the thread discussion about which songs could play during the credits why didn't you just post it there instead of making another thread?
B) These songs are awful for the new Godzilla. How do any of these songs fit the tone of what we've seen in the trailer or the style of Alexandre Desplat?

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-13-2014 2:49 PMWHY NOT JUST GET A SONG FROM TWO STEPS FROM HELL. A SONG CREATED BY THEM FOR THE BIG MAN WILL BE EPIC

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJan-13-2014 2:51 PM^Caps lock.
Here's an idea. How about we just let composer Alexandre Desplat compose the end credits like most film composers do? Novel idea, I know...

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-15-2014 1:00 PMPersonally, I would like to hear Radioactive by Imagine Dragons during the ending credits.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-15-2014 4:59 PMI honestly think Radioactive will be the song. It can't get any closer than that when we're talking about Godzilla

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-15-2014 10:09 PM@Thatonekidwhoscreams, you're exactly right, the first time I ever heard the song I kept thinking, "Man, this would be cool set to Godzilla." I liked the idea so much that I made a video set to it. For anyone who is interested, here's the link.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJan-16-2014 2:18 AMI can't believe there are still people that think Radioactive would be a good song for this movie. It's like no one here understands tonal consistancy.

FordBrodyLover99
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 3:47 AMEverything but "Radioactive"...Oh god i hate that song. And the only reason people link it to Godzilla is because its called radioactive.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 4:54 AMTo be honest the only thing I likes about Radioactive was the beat, but ever scence "Demons" I have wanted nothing to do with Imagine Dragons.
I Believe In Harvey Dent

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 8:02 AMPlease no. How about no song of any kind, no current radio jam or anything like that. I think that would be ridiculous and would completely undo the tone of the film. If anything, during the end credits play the original Godzilla theme.

kaijugroupie84
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 10:07 AM@DylanCojiro, if they had to put a recent song in I would say Radioactive but, I think you're absolutely right about the main theme, but don't get your hopes up...you saw what they did with Man of Steel. I like Alexandre Desplat's music and I think he'll do a good job, but please fit the main theme in there somewhere.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 10:09 AMI agree with Radioactive & Demons.
RESPECT THE GOLDEN MIRU

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJan-16-2014 12:10 PMThe song Radioactive doesn't even have anything remotely to do with Godzilla. People only want that song in it because it has the word "Radioactive" in it, but the rest of the lyrics don't even make sense with anything that Godzilla stands for. People around here are literally saying, "Oh, it has the word 'radioactive' so it should be with a Godzilla movie." That's an awful reason and none of the lyrics suggest anything remotely thematic about Godzilla or what we've learned about the movie.
Not to mention the song sounds nothing like anything Desplat has done in the past and it would clash horribly with the mood of the movie.
It's a moot point anyway. I'm about 99% sure there won't be a song in the credits. Just more score from Desplat. I'm willing to put money on it. A lot of money...

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 2:08 PMSeeing as how Legendary/Gareth Edwards had close ties with Toho during the devlopment of this movie, and they're the ones distrubuting the film in Japan, I don't think hearing the main theme is entirely out of the question.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJan-16-2014 4:24 PM^This is closer to what I expect. Maybe a bit darker and with less of a melody, but yes. Dihgow has it right!

kaijugroupie84
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 5:09 PM@Gman2887, if they use Radioactive at all, it'll probably be on a TV spot closer to its release They have to cater to a modern audience with something that draws them in. We aren't the only ones they want to go see this movie.

Godkilla2000
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 5:13 PMWhat about a remix of godzillas old theme song mixed with a cool song sung by a good artist

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJan-16-2014 9:18 PM@KaijuGroupie84
I agree they have to cater to modern audiences, but they have to do it in a way that's appropriate for the movie. There's nothing in the mood piece or first trailer to suggest they're going for a pop/trendy route of promotions. They're selling it like a horror piece. Imagine Dragons and Radioactive are a far cry away from any sort of horror.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-16-2014 9:54 PMI think a metal version of radioactive would be good.. not gonna lie

AdminGodzillaJan-16-2014 10:39 PMThat sounds like an awful idea.

kaijugroupie84
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-17-2014 9:29 AM@Gman2887, I have to agree with you tht the more and more I think about it, this is going back to the dark roots of the original film, so yeah Radioactive wouldn't really go well with the tone. I'm very excited to see what Mr. Desplat has up his sleeve for this movie.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJan-17-2014 1:22 PMIt not simply going back to the roots of Godzilla, but about tonal consistancy. For example, you wouldn't put a David Bowie song in the end credits of Jaws just because it's a popular song. It would ruin the mood of the movie and probably not make a lot of sense.
Jaws had more score by John Williams during the end credits and I'm almost positive that will be the case with Godzilla and Desplat.
On the [very] off chance there is an end credits song, however, it won't be metal. It won't be dubstep. It won't be poppy electronica...etc... It will probably be some other genre that fits the movie and, honestly, a type of song a lot of people here wouldn't listen to. Remember, Edwards is an indie filmmaker at heart. He's not going to junk his movies up with metal and dubstep.
