Also a good theory. To me evacuating is the least that will happen.
I WON!....................jk lol.
Big G or Baragon, I would love to see how Baragon plays.
I agree with Deadite Kaiju and it will be on Feb 14.
That is a good theory but I still think they are evacuating civillians or searching for someone important like Serizawa who might be trapped in the city.
Because it's fun jk lol. that is a good theory, I would of never thought of that.
Winter Olympics? well that sucks, if its true. Nobody I known watches that.
I don't remember, I think it was Godzilla 2000.
Dang it I deleted my fb for the time being... oh well.
Godzilla will always be number 1.
We'll always have your back here, my friend, I find that losing someone that close is never easy, but knowing that you have people who are there for you makes the grieving a little easier. As Gojira2k said, he's in a better place with Akira Ifukube, Tomoyuki Tanaka, Ishiro Honda and Eiji Tsuburaya. You and your family take care and let us know if there's anything else we can do.
Meaning there isn't any significance to the trail of smoke they're leaving behind them other than marking their positions/making sure they don't jump fall into each other when they deploy chutes. I believe it's pretty standard HALO jump procedure, nothing special in relation to Godzilla. That was my point.
@Gojira2k
I didn't get it anywhere, just taking a shot in the dark. All a gamble-- which is why I made this thread, I wanna hear other people's thoughts on it.
Too bad I can't set up a contest where the person who guesses right gets a prize.
Godzilla vs. Megalon in a drive in theatre. Awesome
No worries man, may your brother rest in peace.
I think we will see the MUTO in the next trailer.
The first Godzilla movie I watched was also Godzilla vs Destroyah. My top 3 are: 1. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, 2. Gojira, 3. Godzilla vs Destroyah
Godzilla vs. the Thing (Mothra)
I'm thinking that any second trailer would be launched on February 4th or 5th. That would be 100 days before the movie opens.
BTW, Godzilla 2014 opens on May 15 in Australia.
"Educated guesses boasted by paumpus attitudes such as Kyero's are not 'common sense' they are educated guesses. If they were common sense, we wouldn't call them educated guesses. Though I agree with him, Legendary will probably tone the hell out of those concepts down, I'm not going to be a pretentious asshat about it walk around spouting my 'common sense' as gospel."
Yeah, sorry, I meant something more along the lines of "educated guess," not common sense. I actually kept thinking in my head that "common sense" isn't really the right term, but I couldn't think of anything else. My point was that there is virtually zero chance of there being any mystical elements in Godzilla 2014 due to the realistic tone they are going for. Sure, there inherently has to be plenty of scientifically impossible things about it, but it will almost certainly stay within the realm of sci-fi, not fantasy.
"As for 'plausibility', if something is impossible, its not plausible. MEANING that creating an oxygen destroyer via splitting oxygen atoms is impossible and thus it can't be plausible. Plausible is assuming you can make a jump over a big GAP, or that you can eat twenty eggs. You might or might not be able to do it. Impossible is when something is FRICKEN IMPOSSIBLE."
I never said the oxygen destroyer was remotely plausible, I fully acknowldged that it was scientifically implausible, I just said that pseudo-science (i.e. something that just sounds sciencey and is vaguely based on some sort of scientific concept, such as splitting atoms, but is really scientifically impossible) is closer to realism than mystical things like spirits, which are just flat-out fantasy.
"GMK actually goes to great lengths to scientifically explain things. They go as far to say souls are electricity that is bound by the earth's magnetic field, including stones and such. We know for a fact that THOUGHTS and FEELINGS come from our brain, and thought are nueral electrical impulses that spark in our brain-- these impulses, like all electricity is bound by the magnetic field of the planet. These are scientific facts buckaroo and have every basis in reality where as 'oxygen destroyers' do NOT. Godzilla and the other monsters 'absorbed' this electricity."
Wait, are you actually trying to say that evil vengeful spirits forming into a giant demonic monster is more realistic than the oxygen destroyer now? I'm sorry, but, regardless of any religous or spiritual beliefs you may have (and I'm not trying to say that your beliefs are wrong), absolutely nothing to do with souls are scientific facts and definietly have no basis in any kind of logic. I could go some detail about why the explanation in GMK isn't remotely in the realm of possiblity, but I think I've made my point well enough. Now that you've told me about that bit of information, though, which I'd never heard before (was it only in the original Japanese dialogue?), I will admit that it could be considered pseudo-science and not just mysticism, putting it on roughly the same level of "realism" as the oxygen destroyer, but certainly not any more plausible.
"So in other words, Kaneko did his homework. Kaneko even tried to explain fantastical elemets like souls, afterlife, and giant monsters through science. Gojira 54 only ever said Godzilla was a dinosaur, that was it. No explenation of anything."
Gojira 54 did explain that the oxygen destroyer dissolves living things by splitting the oxygen atoms in their bodies, which is impossible, but splitting atoms is no less grounded in reality than neural electrical impulses and the Earth's magnetic field, they're all real scientific concepts that that the filmmakers used to explain away impossible things, which isn't a bad thing at all.
I'm sorry, most of this argument was my fault for using unclear phrasing and not communicating my point very well. Hopefully I've stated what I meant more clearly now.
i know what peeps want, they want a variation of GODZILLA 2000, that type with a variation of the current GODZILLAS head omg, but im not complaining, this is the first movie, they can mutant him more in the next movie, bring this shit and give them MAAAASSSIVE amounts of money so they can come out with another one and peeps will make more giant monster movies, its time for beasts to make a breatk back into the movie world.
I believe the trail is just part of the normal jump in this situation.
@Petedjo6- we do know part of the film was shot with cameras from the 50's era for a scene that takes place in the 50's. Hence the assumption about at least acknowledging the original film.
bu if you notice , while they're falling they're leaving a trail of blood mist
Godzilla, of course
My first G-film was Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla; I found it when it first was released on DVD in the US, when I was just 5. After a few days for my young mind to process what was (at the time) the most amazing thing I had ever seen, I dragged my dad back to the electronic store and bought several other Godzilla films, most of which happened to be from the Millenium series. Oh yeah, I was definitely a Millenium child. But I still like the Heisei series the best!
@ Linkman89
I agree. I think it's possible they are going to laser godzilla. Or... And this just popped into my head now. Maybe we were going to try an nuke Godzilla, but something went wrong. Now the bomb has to be manually armed. Send more people because it is less of a chance for failure. Also, if they don't know it's exact location...
As for Sweizawa, I don't think he will only be in the 54' era, but I don't know (perhaps he is the son.grandson of the original). Has it ever been confirmed if this new movie is going to assume that the orriginal happend (Godzilla:Returns, Millennium sytle), or is it completely fresh. I mean, it could still be a reboot of the series, just with a later jump-off point.
thats a tough one. i would use battra. hes a lot more powerful than mothra and has some awesome attacks
The one I can't find to repost on here is an old black and white picture of Godzilla fighting King Ghidorah, Godzilla has his hands waiving in the air in front of him and the caption says "See these hands? I, at least, an scratch my balls"
In a situation this crazy I doubt there would be riotting. This isn't Manhatten where it's a massive island and plenty of places to hid therefore a person is able to become complacent of the threat enough to go robbing places... This is SF, a city with a much smaller downtown area and where a creature like Godzilla would be much more visible, hence the threat more in mind. Other mutos did cross my mind so not a bad idea. Serizawa is a possibility too, although since part of the movie takes place in 1954 I feel like he would be around in only that part.
I still like my idea the best since it would allow the military to attempt any last ditch effort before dropping a nuke on SF. (in the extended lore of Pacific Rim, for example, they tried everything before having to drop THREE Tactical Nuclear bombs on the first Kaiju before it finally went down. obviously, different monster, but in the government's mind could be similar)
Kaizer Ghidorah hands down
Just a question before I give my date. Where did you get February 10th? Now for my date, how about February either 5th or 15th.
Just the current teaser trailer we have gives us a tiny glimps of the Muto. I expect the next trailer to reveal more of it. I've heard of the possibility of a February 7 trailer, so the Muto could be seen there (I'm going to guess the airport scene I've heard about).
My only other guess is that someone leaks the Muto(s) toy, but no idea when that will be.
2Daddy that maybe Dr.serwazia idk how to spell the docters name
Because a devil horn jump wouldn't have been enough. :B
