Good thought. I was thinking more of an extraction of something, not someone. Like possibly some research, or a weapon that was in the city before Godzilla went stomping on it. They need to get it out before its all crushed and whatnot. The multiple people would be for protection. Maybe rioting on the streets, or smaller MUTO's running around (I hope not the latter, I don't like small monsters in Kaiju movies). There are a lot of possibilities. It didn't strike me as odd at all. I actually don't get the big deal over it.
Your welcome. You always have to help a friend through a time of need. And at least it wasn't a painful death and now he is in Heaven with Akira Ifukubes and knows that you kept your end of the bargain and he loves you for that. R.I.P. George Chaffin.
My first Godzilla movie was Godzilla vs King Ghidorah...and I watched that when I was in elementary. Still love it today :3 oh and I own all the Godzilla movies
I'm gonna stick with my unfavorable theory that its mostly because hot chicks are promoting it (A lot of cosplay girls have been promoting it over tumblr, facebook, deviantart and the like-- because they all have the hots for Aaron Johnson) and word of mouth.
People hear "Guy from breaking bad" and they are going to jump on that crap like flies on poop. I know we all wanna sit back and believe its because they love Godzilla-- but generally the public doesn't care. Its not that they hate Godzilla... they just don't care.
So I think the trailer is being over-veiwed by casual fans, teen girls who wanna see 'dat hottie Aaron Johnson' and young men who heard about the trailer by their favorite cosplay model/hot celeb promoting the film.
Trust me, I follow a lot of Cosplayers on facebook and literally in five hours, like twenty girls that I know haven't sat through five Godzilla films in their entire lives are suddenly linking the trailer-- including some random steampunk models.
I think its safe to say word of mouth is the key reason this trailer is watched-- buuuuut I really don't wanna burst any bubbles of fans who aare just riding the popularity high for fifteen minutes... so disregard everything I just said.
I think they might be trying to rendesvou with someone trapped "inside" the zone that has information they need.
In appreciation for the teaser trailer's success, Legendary is having a new contest for fans to enter. Here are the rules:
I can't be positive, because it was in the 1960s, but I think it was either Godzilla Vs The Thing or Gidrah the Three-Headed Monster. I have very fond memories of the silly 1960s Godzillas where Monster Island was full of amazing critters, and the Twin Faeries of Mothra's Island (as we called them at the time) would address the UN from their little wooden box, and translate negotions with the monsters. (I distinctly remember laughing very hard at "Oh Godzilla! Such language!")
I still say it would be awesome if Toho would make a modern one of those Godzilla movies, and guest starr Jackie Chan as the UN Agent assigned to carry the Twin Faeries safely to some international meeting. Imagine Jackie Chan having one of his complicated Kung-Fu fights while carrying their box and carefully keeping it upright -- throwing it up in the air so he can punch a baddie then catching it again, while looking, wide-eyed, at the camera! And, of course, the plot would involve the evil aliens mind-controlling Godzilla, and Jackie getting into the control harness, so he can use his skills and Godzilla's body to defeat MechaGodzilla... And we'd film it by putting Jackie in the suit!
Tell me that wouldn't be a hoot!
Can't really remember since I was like 2 or 3 at the time but I think it was Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla(the original)
@Linkman
There is literally zero evidence to support that. The issue with this is that I, Frankenstien flopped harder than any movie in recent history. It made only $8 million in three days and there's no way that accounts for everyone, or even most people, looking up the Godzilla teaser. As far as I know the Godzilla teaser isn't even attached to I, Frankenstien.
Godzilla King of Monsters. i was 3 or 5. that would be 1991 or 1993.
my top 3 are Godzilla vs Gigan, Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, and Godzilla meets Bambi
Godzilla vs. Gigan was my first. Way, way back on the Sci-Fi channel in 1994.
i feel like im the only one unsatisfied by the roar in the trailer
thats a good one that could happen in the movie
godzilla against mechagodzilla
Definitely. I replayed the trailer like 10 times just to see and hear him roar. This is the one film I'm definitely looking forward to in 2014.
I couldn't possibly remember but it was probably one of the Jun Fukuda ones
This was along time ago i read it but good find though
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah.
Mine was Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla
I think they just want to infiltrate in the city and rescue the civilians.
sounds awesome. it should show the comic con trailer with the mutos and airport
king kong vs godzilla
guys you no nothing of kaiju do u? that footprint is from pacific rim where their showing you the news in the begining the news showed that picture saying that kaiju were on the loose. plus that foot print looks nothing like the 98 or 2014 godzillas feet
it's looks like zilla's footprint
So no articulation
Hey no problem dude we got ur back we are just like a big family ok dude so we got u we will always have your back dude :)
I got a feeling they're going to create new monsters since this is an American Godzilla film, but yeah Megalon would be great in a sequel.
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 2 the first time i saw it was when i was 2 so that would be 2004 i think
Sorry for your loss BigBadBen. Watch the new Godzilla film in his honour.
Godzilla v. King Kong
godzilla 1998, if you want a toho godzilla then Ebirah horror of the deep.
mine was godzilla vs king kong
I think we're missing something here guys... I, Frankenstein came out this weekend, becoming the first film to bein all three major formats (normal, 3D, and IMAX 3D) since the Hobbit. More people probably went to see that, and when they saw it, especially in 3D or IMAX, they probably saw the Godzilla trailer. Since, if you haven't seen it yet, you don't know what it is for the first half or so of the teaser, people probably went home and looked it up. That's just my theory though.
Actually, a buddy of mine (and I do mean a buddy of mine, I don't like using illegal movie sites) has some private file sharing movie site he uses that he found the 2012 trailer on the day it got leaked... what was amazing is that apparently it had been on that site since 2012 but we didn't realize it (aarrrggghhhh!!!!) What probably happened is someone found it on there and finally put it out to a bunch of people. Since then, though, he's searched extensively for the 13 footage but hasn't been able to find it :/
I could be wrong but am I the only one who thinks this looks like one of the footprints from the 98 movie?
As much as I would love to see a Sears or a Burger King get destroyed by a giant monster, I'm hoping if there is product/business placement, it won't be too obvious. I realize that it is common for large budget films to show a brand of something in the background, but if it is too excessive, it may take the audience out of the mood. When I think product placement, Godzilla is not anywhere near the things that pop up in my mind. Remember the Taco Bell ads with Godzilla when '98 came out? Yeah... that is exactly what I DON'T want to happen with this film.
Where tha Hell is this
