Famitsu magazine's latest article on the upcoming game City Shrouded in Shadow introduces the fifth franchise to be featured in the game: the late 80's manga/anime series Patlabor. Perhaps of some interest to kaiju fans is that the artist group that created Patlabor, Headgear, includes Kazunori Ito, who wrote for all three of the Heisei Gamera films.
But one of the most enticing pieces of the article is the first silhouette featured at the bottom right, which resembles a certain giant divine moth kaiju. Godzilla and King Ghidorah are already confirmed for the game, so it seems probable that Mothra would appear alongside them on the second stage. Since more characters are still being announced for franchises that have already been revealed, might we see the Mother Legion or perhaps one of Gamera's other foes added to the game? Only time will tell.
City Shrouded in Shadow is developed by Granzella and published by Bandai Namco. It will be released in Japan for the PlayStation 4 in fall 2017.
