Toho are actively developing their own version of a Monsterverse! Internally referred to as Godzilla World, Toho Chief Godzilla Officer Keiji Ota recently announced the studio's massive plans to expand their Godzilla creatives during an exclusive interview with Japanese outlet NewsPics. A number of new Godzilla movies, anime projects and more are on the way – and soon!
During the interview, Keiji reveals that Toho have been quietly working on developing a number of new Godzilla projects for some time now, spanning both film and anime specifically. This will involve Toho-led productions as well as creator-led stories, suggesting Toho are working with influential members within the community to further boost productivity and reach. These new films and stories will spawn a number of spin-offs, expanding the Toho Monsterverse even further than ever before.
While Ota revealed development on this initiative has been gaining momentum for some time, Toho are nearing completion and a number of new Godzilla films and spin-offs will be announced soon!
