Tonally, the next Monsterverse TV series (known as Red Monarch) will be quite a departure from what we've seen so far in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, says series executive producer Tory Tunnell. Speaking recently to Collider, Tory reveals some crucial details about the new spin-off series starring Wyatt Russell which begins filming this spring.

What's confirmed for the next Monsterverse spin-off series
- Red Monarch will span 10 episodes
- It does take place in the 1980s
- Show will act as a stand-alone entry
- Viewers do not need to have seen Legacy of Monsters to enjoy it
- While the series touches on concepts involving time travel, there is no Monsterverse Multiverse with alternative realities.
- Axis Mundi distorts time, it doesn't allow for time travel. (Time moves slower there than on the surface)
Apple TV have ambitious plans to constantly expand and consistently deliver new Monster-focused productions yeat after year. While Tory doesn't directly confirm Apple TV's plans of filming a new series every year, the prospect is alluded to. Currently Apple TV have not yet ordered a season 3 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, but if our online survey is any indication, it's possible a green-light will be given soon, considering the overwhelming consensus by fans wanting a third season.
