Matthew Modine, who stars in Legendary's upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova movie, has recently been teasing fans with not-so-subtle references to the most highly debated Toho Monster to ever be included in a Monsterverse film to date - SpaceGodzilla!
The internet has been a buzz since the first production teaser was released, with fans divided between which new Toho monster will be making its debut in the next Monsterverse film. Almost half the fanbase thinks the new Monster is going to be Gigan, while a slight majority stand firm believing it's going to be SpaceGodzilla. Following production kicking off, a number of other actors had subtly made inconspicuous references to what some thought were clues of SpaceGodzilla's Monsterverse debut, but none compare to what Modine has been sharing.
Matthew Modine recently went on a sharing spree to his Instagram story, sharing clips and screenshots from - you guessed it - Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla:
This feels quite intentional, how can it not be? Surely Modine wouldn't share these clips just to get a rise out of fans if SpaceGodzilla isn't going to make an appearance in Supernova. Or, is it a distraction tactic to make us think it's SpaceGodzilla when really it's Mecha-King Ghidorah? (That's a joke)
It seems more and more likely that SpaceGodzilla will indeed be the mysterious new world-ending threat in Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. We suspect more hints will drop to further confirm this likelihood in the near future.
