Big congratulations to Toho, director Takashi Yamazaki and the entire team behind Godzilla Minus One on their continued success across the world! The latest live action Japanese Godzilla movie from Toho has officially grossed over $60 million worldwide! This is an impressive return for a film that cost LESS than $15 million to produce!
Godzilla Minus One made box office history and has been on a roll since it made land in North American cinemas - it's already attained the title of highest grossing live action Japanese film in North America, it's made the VFX shortlist for the Oscars, it won Chicago Film Critics Association's Best Use of Visual Effects and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film by the Critics Choice Awards. The Las Vegas Film Critic Society awarded Godzilla Minus One as this year's Best Foreign Film as well.
Since Minus One continues to attract interest, Toho extended the film's initially short theatrical run in North America indefinitely, until momentum slows down. You can still watch it in select theaters!
