I agree. Not only do we already have a thread about this, but it's a fairly offensive and flame baiting topic. I'm also starting to wonder if Radioactive78 and KingofMonsters6 is the same person since they both have some sort of love for anti-religious storytelling, an obsession with the band GWAR and similar, uh, grammatical errors. Does this site have a moderator? Because this needs to be looked into and these threads should really be locked down or deleted.

I think that if you are going to post an idea about something you really, really like. You should put some effort into it and respect the idea. When I said that it was a list, I was just saying exactly what I saw. It was a list of names. If you don't think you are that creative, why are you posting ideas? Just wondering.

Actually I think he has that song in the list and there's a whole other thread about the Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla song. That said, it would probably be a terrible song to include in the movie. It's too tounge and cheek and could come off extremely cheesy in contrast to the serious tone we've been told the movie is going for. So I agree, that's the problem with putting any rock/metal song in it. It might cheapen the movie and make it harder to take seriously. Traditional movie score is the way to go. Now if we were to talk about which composers would be a good fit for Godzilla, I'm all for it.

I can't believe no one mentioned Blue Oyster Cults Godzilla here... That being said a traditional score is the way to go, for the most part whenever popular music is shoehorned in a movie it makes it look cheap, especially in these types of movies. I love hard rock/metal too, so this is not a knock on the music itself.

Im not really the action figure/toy kinda guy, but clothing (I WANT ME A PAIR OF GODZILLA SOCKS), posters, and MAYBE a Godzilla 2014 model/toy/thing.

Godzilla 2000 and Final Wars. In 2000, I really like the design of his spikes and his new roar. He had an awesome look. Also, his breath color of red orange was unique and sometimes seemed more powerful and perhaps may be a more realistic and natural color. Final wars I liked because of his leaner body like a real dinosaur or reptile would have. Also, what really impressed me was how his brow kept eyes hidden in shadow. It gave him a darker and more mysterious look. I also liked his darker grey skin color to and how his breath looked and sounded in this film and how his breath's color changed based on his power level.

When I was a little kid, I was introduced to Godzilla by watching a VHS copy of King Kong vs. Godzilla. It is actually a good Godzilla movie in my opinion, although not my favorite. What most likely made me become a Godzilla fan and watch more films of the monster was because I am a huge dinosaur enthusiast and I liked that he is a dinosaur survivor. Also, his atomic fire breath is primarily blue, and blue is my all time favorite color.

That may be true, and I agree it is cool, but just because something is "cool" doesn't mean it would fit a movie. Like I said in another thread, if this were a very tongue and cheek Godzilla movie with overtly fun comedic beats and action, (kind of like [i]Iron Man[/i]) then perhaps rock music would fit. But director Gareth Edwards is selling this movie as a very character centric and serious film that's similar to the first Godzilla movie. If you were to put any of those songs in the first Godzilla film it just wouldn't fit the mood or atmosphere, no matter how good the song is. Lets put it this way. How many Godzilla movies have had rock music in it? To my recollection, only one: [i]Final Wars[/i]. The other Godzilla movies haven't because rock music arguably wouldn't fit with them. I think a traditional score with a talented composer is more appropriate for the new movie and we shouldn't expect rock music to be in it. I for one am hoping Brian Tyler gets a chance to do the music. Though I'd love to hear what Hans Zimmer would do with Godzilla-- if he's not too busy, and can create an appropriate melody.

Ouch, if it's simply a matter of coolest looking one, I'm gonna go Kiryu and Mecha-King Ghidorah. If it's effectiveness against Godzilla then of course it goes to MechaGodzilla (original) and MechaGodzilla II.

As Zodiac stated, a healing factor is only good for elongating a fight, but unlike regeneration on Wolverine or Cell (yes, DBZ fan) it has never been shown to create an entirely new Godzilla or Biollante from scratch. And whereas Hedorah's powers work specifically to destroy plant/ natural life, Biollante's is merely an acid which would do no more than melt Hedorah into a different existence, not into non-being.

It was idiotic when it was first posted, it's still idiotic now. Why does this site allow posts like this?

Scrapped or not, video game appearance only or not, there will be no Toho monsters (besides Godzilla himself) in the new film.

[b]Showa[/b] - For me it's a tie between [i]Mothra vs. Godzilla[/i] and [i]Terror Of MechaGodzilla[/i]. The effects were pretty amazing for their time in both movies. The pyrotechnics were great in [i]TOMG[/i]. [b]Heisei[/b] - To be honest, I'm not sure. I don't watch the Heisei series much. My VCR is broken and most of my Heisei films are on VHS and I lost my [i]Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla/Godzilla vs. Destroyah[/i] double feature DVD. :/ [b]Millenium[/b] - Probably either [i]GMK[/i] or [i]Tokyo S.O.S[/i]. Both have some pretty great effects, minus The Godzilla suit being very stiff in the Kiryu films.

Besides [i]Gojira[/i], it's probably [i]Terror Of MechaGodzilla[/i]. [i]Godzilla vs. Monster Zero[/i] is up there, too. I remember renting that movie from the local video store when I was about 4 or 5 and my older brother and I watched it in the dark one night, sitting on the floor in the living room. I don't know why but that memory always stuck out in my mind. Good times, good times.

A healing factor is nice but it's not really a good defense. It just means you can take more punishment before you fall over and die. Godzilla's rays blasted holes through Biollante, sure and she healed really fast. What good is that going to do her when all of the air turns into an acidic version of itself? Biollante is a plant, Hedorah's eye beams cause lots of explosions and fire. Plants burn. Even if the regen did take place, that's a lot of smoke for one alien smog monster to eat. Biollante would be burned alive, then poisoned. And if it went up into spores to regenerate, what kind of a world would it have to come back to? I don't see any way the plant monster could win in a straight up fight. It's regeneration would be one of it's biggest weaknesses. Godzilla only won because he had help from humanity. Worse, it's implied that every piece of Hedorah is alive, as in if separated from the body it could take on a life of its own. In the movie we watched as two really tiny monsters merged back into one being. So if every piece is not destroyed Hedorah can not fully be killed. Hedorah has the superior range, firepower, endurance and speed in this fight.

I remember watching the classic series with my dad on some old TV program (cant remember what it was for the life of me) and it just spawned from there. First renting some VHS tapes of Godzilla movies. Soon the buying of the figures started. Then I was officially hooked.

I don't know, while I want Hedorah to win, I feel like Biollante would be the victor in this battle. While Hedorah certainly has the advantage in speed (his flying form) Biollante differently has him beat in the defensive part. I mean she has a surprisingly fast regenerative ability! The back of her head was blown off by Godzilla and he got it back moments later. Plus she can just turn into spores and fly into space to regenerate.

Probably all of it! Hopefully they'll even make S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla '14 and his opponents. :P

For me it's got to be Godzilla Vs. Hedorah. I was 8 when it was released and I saw it with my dad and it sparked a lot of conversation about us and the environment. Then a few days later at school my teacher, who had seen it with her kids, used it as a way of opening up the class to a pollution lesson. I've shown it to both of my daughters when they were young too, and 13 years later my oldest still gets emotional about "the kitten in the black goo".

We need a fan fiction contest for this site. With all the global warming going on Hedorah would be a great monster to make a comeback. Who's up for it?
