G. H. (Gman)Godzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla 2014 Cast and Characters
When was Cranston putting down the movie? All the interview videos and articles I've read he's been very enthusiastic about it. He even said he joined the movie because of how good the script was. He's sarcastic a lot and enjoys having fun, so maybe he said something as a joke. But he hasn't spoken poorly about the movie once. I'd have to see what article he was referring to for proof, otherwise.

Actually, Bryon Cranston is a fan of Kaiju films... he is a great actor and I'd love to sre him play a renewed version of the reporter Steve Martin from the original.

GFAN4-20YRSGodzilla 2014 ForumWHAT COLOR FIRE SHOULD GODZILLA HAVE?
I say, as Goji scholar, I grew up with the Showa and Heisei Godzilla with the blue color. And it would be awesome to see it, I am going to be realistic. Radiation purely has no definite color. So I am going to sau give him a white ray. Almost light consintarated light.

For the Heisei films Godzilla 1985-Godzilla vs. King Ghidora were the best. I mean in the 1984 film when he burned the military at the dock was cool. You see a soldier on fire, etc. Showa films, Godzilla 1954, vs. Mothra 1964, and Destroy all Monsters were good. The 1954 film for its documentary like tone in some scenes as well as the scene when Godzilla first uses his heat ray on the steel electrical towers. It looked so real at the time.

gigan. he's much faster and agile than gidorah. he can also teleport and has like a friggin chainsaw belly. I know there is some cloud of confusion around his mysterious mind control abillities, but hes got those and he IS a cyborg so gidorah's Lightning breath ain't gonna help now is it?

RAMmoduleGodzilla ForumWhich movie is better? Godzilla vs King Ghidorah or Godzilla vs Destroyah?
godzilla vs destroyah. The only problem is that destroyah is like his most overpowered opponent, so there is a fair amount of clutching your face in fear that the big G might die.

RAMmoduleGodzilla Fan Works ForumWhich monsters do you think deserve a rematch against Godzilla in the later films?
I think actually, one monster and one monster only deserves a rematch. This monster is Mechagodzilla. not Kiryu or mechagodzilla II, but the original ass kicking mech from Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla and Terror of Mechagodzilla. He came extremely close to beating godzilla in the first one. The Humans should find him underground an accidentally reboot him and he goes on a rampage and its up to godzilla to stop him.

Godzilla would still win, mechs always have problems But, Mecha-Spacegodzilla still sounds pretty cool

Based on the present fact that this will appaently be a grounded realistic film, I must say the oxygen destroyer was bull crap advanced weponry that happens to be im a lot in original kaiju films. The only that can stop the monster I mean if you took it out of the original and just had him disdapear back into tje ocean, eithput full explanation, it wouldn't have taken away much drpm the original tale all rhat much.

its kinda obvious, because godzilla has regenerator g1 he has a natural advantage over any mech. godzilla however, has atomic breath which would f*** the system inside.

he should fight kamacuras first. They/it need more screen time as well as an opportunity to get PWNED

I hope not, and I do not think the Oxygen Destroyer will make an appearance. I also do not want them to kill Godzilla at the end of this movie. It's sad to watch him die and I don't want them to pull some sort of "Godzilla had a son we didn't know about" if they do a sequel.

KaijuZilla that's a pretty good story there I like that one. I would make one where Godzilla FW and Destroyah team up, and enter the Precursors home world (from Pacific Rim) and destroy their entire world, so it would keep other Kaiju's from entering their homeworld and destroying it.

I don't agree the 1998 movie was even a good monster film. I think it was junk all around, Godzilla or not.

@BigBadBen I'm afraid I don't quite understand. Are you saying you want us to choose one movie in the series as a whole or choose a movie from the separate eras just as you did in your last post here? If it's the later I'll try my hand: Showa Series - Mothra vs. Godzilla. Incredible miniatures and craft, amazing suits and puppetry and wonderful opticals. Tsuburaya was a true master. Heisei Series - Godzilla vs. Biollante. It barely beats out The Return of Godzilla, but wins over due to some wonderful animatronic work and some very consistent miniature and costume work. I also dug the flashiness Kawikata used in this movie. But he started overusing it in the rest of the series. I think the special effects started going downhill after this one. Millennium Series - Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah. There are some minor visual flaws, but overall it was the most consistent and appealing of this series. The CGI was fairly well done, the miniatures were probably the best of the series and I really enjoyed some of the perspective shots that made Godzilla look truly huge. (From a car window, from inside a building...etc...) GMK might be a little overrated, but it's still the best of the Millennium movies in my book. On another note, I don't understand some of the praise Final Wars' effects are getting here. I thought for the most part that movie featured some pretty inconsistent and shoddy effects work. The CGI was pretty awful and the miniatures were the least detailed of the millennium movies. Wasn't a fan of most of the suits either. Shots of the tanks and the Antarctica set looked particularly bad.

saiyaman_unleashedGodzilla 2014 Forumshould the new godzilla movie play blue oyster cults godzilla song?
Akira Ifukube didn't score Godzilla 1985, and if memory serves me right, none of his more iconic Godzilla tunes even make it into the movie. I do think Godzilla 1985 is a good score to listen to for tone, but I can't say the same about Godzilla vs Gigan (even though I like that movie a quite a bit).

Gl78064Godzilla 2014 ForumWill the Oxygen Destroyer return in Godzilla 2014?
I don't think this film will have anything to do with the first Godzilla, since Gareth Edwards said that the film will make Godzilla a "contemporary issue" meaning that Godzilla will originate from a modern day issue, maybe like a nuclear reactor meltdown or some type of cloning.

hello guys thanks for telling me what you guys thought had the best special effects in it @GMAN2887 to be honest with you i meant the whole era of films from the classic eiji tsubaraya special effects to koichi kawakita's special effects and the millenium series with kenji suzuki and all the others now to get down to business the greatest special effects movies in all catagories the showa series with out a doubt DESTROY ALL MONSTERS the heisie sereis THERE IS A DRAW GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA 2 AND GODZILLA VS DESTROYAH and last but not least the millenium series I WOULD HAVE TO SAY FINAL WARS OR GMK but come on guys gmk is so highly over rated for a film isnt it?

i dont know about it you are right though godzilla 1954 and godzilla vs destroyah 1995 both had the oxygen destroyer in it but if i may get my opinion on this film i believe we may see dr. serizawas son in this film or some type of a relative with the same last name appear in this film after all gareth said this will be an epic rebirth to the classic 1954 film and with that being said how did they kill godzilla in that film oh hello the oxygen destroyer you could be right but i hope that they dont kill godzilla in this new film it was awful to watch him die in godzilla vs destroyah

'Godzilla' 1998 Everyone seems to hate this film, but it isn't Godzilla, it's Zilla. If you think about it, even though Godzilla destroyed him in 10 seconds and the military took him down, it's a pretty good monster movie. So what if Zilla is small and weak, alot of people overlook this movie.

KiryuGojiGodzilla ForumWhich movie is better? Godzilla vs King Ghidorah or Godzilla vs Destroyah?
Godzilla vs. Destroyah because it nearly killed the king of the monsters! They bring back the oxygen destroyer and we think that his legacy is over until the end. It's a really good film I recommend it.

^Pretty good answer in regard to a wider audience and the original film. It's a fair point and I'd agree a lot of casual movie goers probably bypass the film as campy trite without giving it a fair chance and looking at it in a historical and cultural context. I also agree that stock footage is Godzilla's Revenge most outstanding flaw. It's absolutely reason to undercut the movie and its one of the faults that rightfully gets the most attention. But to say they should have waited a few years to make it assumes there were other options at the time. There were no other plans to continue the series. Destroy All Monsters was supposed to be the last film, but the character's popularity was still strong. Though Honda wanted to create a very different kind of film, Toho wasn't 100% on board with the idea. Still, they wanted to continue the series and gave him a minimal budget to complete the movie. Eiji Tsuburaya would typically fight the battle for a larger budget so the scenes were done right, but his health was wavering. He wouldn't last much longer. Godzilla's Revenge is certainly the antithesis to Destroy All Monsters, all the way down to the stock footage, but at least that was the point. I'm not a huge fan of the movie either, but I think too many people over the years have focused on what the movie lacks that they don't see what it really has. In any case it kept the series alive and we received five more Showa movies because of its reach to younger audiences.
