I don't think that they'll show much of Godzilla, if at all. They might show the full theatrical trailer, but that's all I can imagine. I wouldn't expect something extraordinary like the Godzilla Encounter.

I didn't like most of the showa series. xD I liked a handful of them, but they mostly sucked in my opinion. Anything with Mothra in it that isn't in the Millennium series. Godzilla: Final Wars was perhaps the fourth worst Godzilla movie ever created, behind Godzilla v. The Sea Monster, Son of Godzilla, Godzilla's Revenge, and King Kong v Godzilla. I don't hate Godzilla v. Hedorah, but I don't really like it that much either.

KaijuChris, Godzilla's rights belong to Legendary. During Legendary and Warner Bros. break up, Warner Bros. kept the rights to Pacific Rim, and all the super hero movies, but Legendary kept Godzilla. Also, the reason why we haven't seen a Godzilla x Gamera movie is because TOHO told Daiei, after Daiei had asked if Toho wanted to make a Godzilla x Gamera movie, that "Your monster will never be in the same movie as our monster." or something very similar.

King Ghidorah, or an interation of him, is present in Final Wars. Keizer Ghidorah, I believe. I think he looks bad ass in that, but I hated the movie. If you're talking about the movie itself, then GMK. If you're talking about the design, then I'd go with FInal Wars. If Final Wars does not count, then Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah.

I don't want to be one of these people, but I'd say Bagan. He'd make a cool third movie monster, if they end up making a trilogy. It'd be cool to see them hinting at Bagan's arrival in the post credits of the first, and then maybe the arrival in the post credits of the second. I dunno. I don't really want to see any of TOHO's other creations in the American remake. But that's just my opinion. *Edit After reading some of the other comments, it'd be so bad ass for Mecha Godzilla to make an appearance. I mean, even if it's just in construction during a the second film, an appearance in a third film would be awesome.

But also what about Manda he could easily fit with the new movies. Maybe Kumonga aswell.

TrueMiracle85 pretty nailed what would not just be the BEST, but also the ONLY candidate for a Post Credits scene of this movie. I just can't any other type of Post Credits Scene for this movie that could work very well.

I'm guessing my take on a reveal for the "threat" in the next movie will be a blacksheep among the other ideas but here it goes. I keep picturing a scene after the initial end credits that says "Two Years Later." Start with black screen, just hearing construction noises, until it cuts to a huge hangar. Construction workers walking on and off screen carrying beams of metal and other materials as the camera pans to blueprints on a nearby table of what is clearly Mecha-Godzilla. Cut to black. Continue end credits. I think it would be really cool and symbolic if in the next film it's revealed that Mecha-Godzilla was created using materials recycled from the destruction Godzilla left behind in the first film. What do you guys think?

"Destroyer of Worlds" does have a nice ring to it. Like @KaijuChris said though, I'd really have to wait and see this first movie before I could brainstorm more on it.

Well the idea to fight a new Megalon could be nice but I don't see it happening in the first movie. I like most fans think that we should see all new monsters at first to set the story in good for anything new to come. I have always wanted to see Godzilla vs Mecha-Kong. In this we would see the U.S.A. perform the same cloning, cyborg, experiment as was done to make Mecha Godzilla.

marketing for that Seventh Son (pile of turd) and 300 Rise of an Empire (which doesnt look too bad in all honesty). They'll probably showcase some of their forthcoming projects to a degree. As for the big guy, they may do very little or quite a bit, the ball has already started rolling with all these leaked trailers so maybe they'll give up the ghost and gives us some well-needed kaijuness lol.

I'm with Josh - All I can keep imagining is a pan view to outer space, seeing an asteroid heading towards Earth - but as it passes by the camera view the screen goes black - we hear the classic King Ghidorah screach.. or roar... or chirp, whatever he does, haha. But definitely King Ghidorah.

I would like say.... King Ghidorah! that be awsome! or Destoryah! cuz Godzilla dies in this movie cuz of Oxygen destroyah... this would make since! but maybe remake destroyah but not make Godzilla die @ the end

As I said on a much earlier thread, Mothra should stay well away from any futur Godzilla films(asuning there will be any) or anything that proposes to be "real". Seriously, nothing that even resembles that mystic pile of moth crap and those bloody pixy twins. Oh, and Battra. GOD how I loath Battra! As for other Kaiju, I don't think it would be too difficult in fitting any Kaiju who is tied in to what created Godzilla in the first place in this realistic setting. You know, monsters like Anguilles and Rodan. It's the space and mystic creatures like Gidorah and the afformentioned Mothra that are going to be hard to pull off.

Honestly the movie is Godzilla so if you can suspend your belief enough to enjoy him in a realistic setting you can do that with quite a bit of the monsters. The only ones that really get thrown out are the space monsters and Mechs. You really don't have to update the look too much something like showa rodan to heisei would be a good enough update for most of the monsters. Seeing as godzilla looks roughly the same the looks for Rodan, Anguirus, varan, baragon, manda, kamacura, kumonga, titanosaurus, and a few others could all look relatively close to their initial looks without throwing too much away. Granted the space monsters are, for the most part, godzilla's main enemies and some of the most memorable but their looks and back stories would make it very hard to incorporate. However for the amount these writers are getting paid they should be able to come up with a new back story, or design that could bring the space monsters into the movie without throwing away the theme they're going for. I think the farther this movie goes in terms of sequels the more likely we'll be to see an old monster. There's most likely not 1 in the first, but as the movies progress I could see bringing an old foe, or friend back as a main sequel villain. If it does go into say a trilogy I find it very unlikely no old monster besides Godzilla will be seen.

If any classic kaiju were to be put into a new series then they'ld definitely need some redesigns(different look but impression of same monster)......which could without a doubt be very dangerous from the fan base. So yeah, only a few classics could be possible since most of them are pretty -awesomely-imaginative

I say Anguirus... he's pretty much a dinosaur that was trapped and then released into our world.

I see where your coming from Durpoo4, what I meant by the Pacific Rim kaiju is they're modern and are more likely to fit in as they have been designed so recently. Were as Godzilla's old foes have a preconceived concept (changing them drastically will cause inevitable fan upset). Your probably right about Rodan though he's a better fit than say Gigan, Megalon, or even Ghidorah (I love that 3 headed dragon but that idea in itself would be ridiculous in this new film). Maybe i have answered my own,question - the chances of an old fave is slim and,they will all most likely be original kaiju to be on,the safe side.

I don't think you can go off 1 movie as what the new meta for kaiju are. Personally I think Rodan would be a perfect fit as he as basically the same back story as godzilla. He would fit into this new realistic style better than most of Godzilla;s monsters. He's also a good contrast to godzilla who is is sea based and Rodan being an flying kaiju, he would be a good second movie monster seeing how godzilla would have defend against a speed and air based assault. I don't see legendary trying to get rights for Gamera. While the popularity of these monsters may be somewhat close in Japan(I'm sure Godzilla hold a big lead though) in the US it's a landslide. Godzilla's had theatrical releases in the past in the US, a star on the hollywood sidewalk, and many references in pop culture. I'm not sure if any Gamera movies were released theatrically in the US, and he would just seem like a poor man's godzilla to most people if they came out with the movie any time close to this 1. While it would be cool to finally see that fight most of us have been waiting for ever since we learned about both monsters it won't ever happen, especially by a US company. The idea that godzilla is supposed to be realistic(I'm using this term loosely) would be even more ridiculous for Gamera who has either been a friend to children, or an atlantis guardian as a backstories in all the movies I'm aware of except the original and is basically a firebreathing, flying, giant turtle. That doesn't really sound like something you could bring into realism, or at least do it very well. That and Godzilla would win the fight no matter what country the movie is made in because it will be based on popularity and I doubt Gamera's company would let that happen.

Or who PRim or Godzilla actually belong to in reality. My guess is probably Warner Bros.

Legendary's involvement with kaiju movies will be interestingly determined when it gets officially partnered up with Universal (they do a lot of monster and creature flicks so its a sure poss). However, its been Warner bros. co-financing and handling pacific rim and Godzilla with legendary and I'm not sure who is holding sway with Toho.

Which trailer are we talking here, the comic con trailer or the soon-to-be official trailer supposedly due in a few weeks? I already have the comic con trailer (I keep watching it) and I think quite a few people have it now.

Well after watching every Godzilla and Godzilla Affiliated monster movie from 1954-2004 from Mid April up to midnight May 15th, if there is a midnight showing where I live, you can bet your behind that I will be there for the 3d version and then 3-4 more times the following day in 2d. I will make it obvious that I will be there just for Godzilla by wearing one of my 4 godzilla shirts, and maybe my godzilla slippers XD. Then I will purchase whatever Godzilla related merchandise I can that day before I go broke, and then put money aside to buy the DVD when it comes out. May 16th will truly be a day of Godzilla for me. I already requested May 15th and 16th off back in August. Not that I am prepping and waiting for this movie ;)

Since the director already hinted at a Destroy All Monsters like sequel Hmmmmm how about Godzilla: Wrath of the Monsters? Godzilla: Wars ( named after the trendmasters toy line) Godzilla: War of the Kaiju

If they base the destruction and aftermath off of the movies Gojira and Gojira 1984 (NOT the Raymond Burr versions) then that will be the best thing they could do for a Godzilla movie. Those 2 movies you really get a feel for the absolute devastation and the human toll.
