If I remember correctly Ive read somewhere that Legendary is gonna patner up with Uiversal, with that there could probably be an American King Kong vs Godzilla reboot.

if it does grow then i hope the elitest and so called 'hardcore' godzilla fans do not scare them off, rember guys if someone watches and likes the new godzilla, don't get angry with them and scare them off by saying ''have you watched the original 1954 godzilla'', cause even if they like this godzilla which is based more on the toho godzilla by standard, doesn't mean that they will need/will like the old movies.

what your hearing about the mutos is just theory and mostly speculation, they could be a mixture of insectoid/arachnid and reptile, Rob from E.T.N speculates that the muto in the 2013 comic con trailer was a concept monster. it is possible that what people are saying about the muto is far from what they actually will be, after all they have shown us godzilla since production finsihed but we have nothing on the muto monsters. also getting rights to other toho monsters is expensive.

while I'd love to see some new monsters, giant insectoid thingies aren't going to cut it. I'm less enthusiastic about these MUTO things the more I hear about them. They can't possibly have as much character and coolness as any of the other past TOHO baddies. I'd LOVE to see some old characters revised for the new 2014 series. Not more insects 1/3rd the size of G. But I'm eager to see what EVER they come up with.

I hear you guys on the "fake" fans, they can be annoying, but you have to remember that those "fake" fans put money in the pockets of the movie and allow sequels to happen. I'm a Star Wars fan so I totally know what you mean about the fakers, but you gotta also kinda be happy when they come up because that means the movie did well :)

kaijugroupie84Godzilla 2014 Forumgodzilla's impenatrable hide more realisticFeb 7, 2014Reply
I actually like the crocodilian hide they gave him. It's reminiscent of the scaly bumps that the original Godzilla had and it also serves as natural armor for him. I think they're making all the right decisions in this film regarding realism, while at the same time giving us fans a good Godzilla film.
PulsariumGodzilla 2014 ForumIf you got to pick an existing song to be Godzilla's (2014) theme song, what would it be, and why?Feb 7, 2014Reply
Akira Ifukube's theme (think GvKG) is the only one that fits Godzilla in my opinion. And not a lyricized version or a version in a different genre/style of music. It must be orchestral. I can't imagine Godzilla having a theme from popular culture. It would make it much less serious.

One could probably make the argument for it, no doubt. But Ishiro Honda and his team just wrote Godzilla to be really tough. An "impenetrable hide" is, I believe, how it was phrased originally.

@ gman2887
good point and yeah i was only 9 when i got that official godzilla compendium book so its true i was a beginner at that time still though when missles,bombs,tanks, and other monsters couldn't really inflict a whole mess of damage to him i found that to be belivable because no matter how hard humanity tried in the first film they really couldnt' kill him other than the oxygen destroyer
G. H. (Gman)Godzilla 2014 Forumdoes anyone know if godzilla will have his regenative cells?Feb 7, 2014Reply
@BigBadBen
You don't have to take my word. It's fact. J.D. Lees has always written his material with bias and Marc Cereceni is merely a fan, not an authority. The "Official" Godzilla Compendium book is more a beginners guide and it's not entirely factual.
If you want more accurate and authortive books/information about the Godzilla series you should read material by Keith Aiken, Bob Johnson, August Ragone, Richard Pusateri, Stuart Galbraith, Steve Ryfle, David Kalat and Ed Godziszewski. (Ryfle, Kalat, Ragone and Godziszewski are probably the most informative of that list.) Any of those people will tell you that Godzilla's regenerative powers were not invented until 1989, when Godzilla vs. Biollante was written by Kazuki Omori.
The only way you're going to prove that Godzilla had his regenerative abilities in the Showa series, namely the original film, is if you find a quote by Ishiro Honda, Tomoyuki Tanaka, Takeo Murata or Shigeru Kayama who made the movie. And you won't. Because they never wrote Godzilla to have regenerative powers.

maybe they are pretraying hawaii as odo island in this film and that is godzilla's home as far as him protecting something goes..mmmmmm i would say himself but since it is something from humanity that could be it or even something else. as far as the atomic breath maybe it is a different color or even more devestaing that what it has been in the past. and last but not least old toho monsters... mmm megalon is a possiblity but even kamakiras, kumonga, or even megaguirus dang it why dont they just go ahead and release all the info that we actually need for this film that way we know what we will get but for now im joining in on the "ITS FAKE BANDWAGON ALSO."

Same here. Like the Transformers "fans", who don't know that Bumblebee actually talks.
I also agree with God_Of_Destruction that superhero movies are so predictable and stale. They were cool and interesting at first, but they are just so boring now. The Avengers was the biggest letdown for me.
I hope this movie will change people's perception on Gojira.

so are you telling me that my official godzilla compendium book is nothing but lies?
i dont think so TOHO, J.D. LEES, and MARC the publisher of this book give us all the details and it says that godzilla had his regenative cells in the first one but never given detail about it at all in the showa series. no offense to you but ill take their word over yours any day

you know watching that trailer over and over i see how godzilla can be easily mistaken for 700+ feet but the camera angle when the soldiers are coming down easily manipulate us to believe he is bigger than what he actually is so now i am convinced that he is anywhere from 350-400 no taller
Herro PreaseGodzilla 2014 ForumWill people take Godzilla seriously after this film?Feb 7, 2014Reply
I'm actually more afraid of "fake" Godzilla fans who show up after the film (assuming it's awesome) and pretend they liked him all along. Not sure why this bothers me, but as someone who grew up with it and has supported the genre my whole life, the idea bugs me. Gues I just hate bandwagoners.
BCrockett94Godzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's sizeFeb 7, 2014Reply
@GodzillaAsylum
Actually yes, that's an accurate thing to say. I've been to San Francisco plenty of times. It's not exactly a flat city. Within a hundred meters, the elevation can increase or decrease by about 300 feet. The elevation differences on the island alone range to almost a kilometer. The building that everyone uses as "proof" that Godzilla is going to be some absurd height is actually next to a "hill" (not a small hill, mind you, but one about 300 feet tall). This makes it quite plausible that Godzilla is on one of these "hills" and it makes it look like he's bigger than he actually is. Judging by how the camera is angled and moving, and not to mention all of the debris and dust everywhere, it's easy to assume that Godzilla is 700+ feet tall.
I was referring to making the mistake of thinking I read that KaijuGroupie thought that Godzilla was an irradiated dinosaur in the 2014 movie.

I don't think this movie will do anything for Godzilla in terms of anyone taking him seriously. Maybe a few people, but most people that have seen the trailer realise that this isn't going to be like the showa series (or old campy Godzilla) but even with the trailers out, we can still figure that people might be concerned that this movie will still end up with something like the 98 movie.
G. H. (Gman)Godzilla 2014 ForumWill people take Godzilla seriously after this film?Feb 7, 2014Reply
I really don't care if it does or not. I doubt this movie will make some people watch the original films differently, but who cares? I love Godzilla and I have a much broader, critical and historical understanding of the series than anyone who laughs at him. What matters is I (the royal I) like Godzilla and I take it seriously. Who cares if others don't.

@MICKING Yeah.......I think I'll stick to self-induced-nuclear-evolution over ridiculous periods of time due to revival after death by nuclear radiation that can't be done in normal biological circumstances and can withstand enormous weights of incomprehensible scale and produce such powerful exotic abilities. With that in mind, there's almost no limit to the size Godzilla, or any similarly-created Kaiju, could have. Of course, there always is a size stabilization point where a particular size fits "just right".
