I'm actually quite proud to see what the G fandom as become. Our fanbase is a very unique one. These forums alone prove that, granted some topics could be really pointless and such, but this forum as proved that G fans are willing to break-down everything second by second just to find clues on the new film, willing to think outside the box, come up with new ideas, are very opinionated, not to mention the fan-base is still growing day by day with the upcoming release, and last, protective. Godzilla/Gojira was a low/medium budget franchise created by Toho and in almost 60 years it's built to be a very recognizable aspect in the Japaneses culture. I've waited quite some time to see this movie, and all these new ideas and discoveries are making me even more excited, however, as most of the ideas and stuff posted are really good ones, nothing is set in stone until the movie comes out. T-minus 97 days guys :D

I gotta say, I'm not exactly a proud person to begin with so this might be a moot point, but I'm not really "proud" to be a part of a group of fans. Though I must say that I enjoy it.

if it does grow then i hope the elitest and so called 'hardcore' godzilla fans do not scare them off, rember guys if someone watches and likes the new godzilla, don't get angry with them and scare them off by saying ''have you watched the original 1954 godzilla'', cause even if they like this godzilla which is based more on the toho godzilla by standard, doesn't mean that they will need/will like the old movies.

We all started somewhere, some on the original, some not, it all depends when you were born to be honest.

That sounds like a description of every fanbase ever. And I wouldn't be proud to be part of a fanbase... it just seems like it's no different from being proud of being a member of a certain race or country.
