So, Mitodah will come and Hedorah makes a comeback ? I wonder if we will see Vishnu (although he appeared first in the SDCC 2012 trailer, he surely won't be in the movie).
So I noticed Serizawa's first name is 'Ichiro' which, according to The Internet, can mean "First son" in Japanese:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichir%C5%8D
Yay theories, but I'd like to think this Serizawa is the son of Daisuke or something like that. THAT would be a cool tie-in!
I am not biting the bait. It's only a joke. Besides, the verdict is clear, Godzilla will be released May 16th in USA and on May 14th in France (yeah, i'm french). But nice try.
yeah ANANASATOM that's basically correct.
Guys, this is a Google error of some kind. Not an official change of release date. Unless the official channels change it (which they probably won't) the release is the same as it has always been.
Don't get overly excited. You'll just be setting yourself up for disappointment.
Just wanted to air this in case it was missed:
Official release date moved to May 15th according to the Godzilla facebook. So.... Still earlier than the 16th, right? xD
No idea about 18th April. I'd love it if that were the case though - for both the US and us here in the UK!
Hahahaha that's so weird. I just google searched it and got the same wonky result. Must be some kind of glitch or something.
Realistically, the release date is still May 16th. If you check any of the official channels, that's how it's still listed.
It's just weird that the google search results show that. I was expecting this to be a hardcore photoshop fake, but I tried it for myself, and whaddyaknow? Haha, that's a cool glitch, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for the early release date.
.....I'm so exited i'm prety much speachless
I think it just happened today, the Godzilla Facebook page posted a new picture and someone made a comment which made me wonder, so I searched it and sure enough, it's hopefully true. This makes me even more excited for the movie!!!
Okay, now this is a shock to me. When in the world did this happen?
Pardon my language, but, IF THIS IS TRUE I WILL FUCKING CRY!!
^- I searched it myself. It isn't a bluff.
What confuses me is that all other official sources still state May 16th.
WHAT THE HELL. WHERES KYERO WHEN WE NEED HIM TO ANALYZE STUFF.
A few of these are really good ideas, and I wouldn't be surprised if any of them were right (especially if it's Nietzsche's idea).
My theory is that they will get it from a combination of many factors throughout the movie.
If at all.
If they do make it like SH did with the concept that made him look like a demon lizard.
I believe Monarch is a division of M.U.T.O. devoted to keeping tabs on people involved in, are suspected of having been involved in, or have spoken about Kaiju incidents.
They're keeping tabs on the protagonist family, as well as Serizawa. Something's boiling beneath the surface.
And it will all explode with Godzilla.
They won't use this, at all, but in one of my...let's not go into how I had the thought.
Zilla/Zillah was supposed to be a descendent of Caine, a woman, sixth-generation(if my memory is serving me properly). So, what if 'Godzilla' is a shortened term for "Seventh God-son of Caine, by way of Zillah". For those not versed in Kabbalah mysticism, 7 is the number of God. God in Kabbalistic mysticism is much more of an Eldritch Abomination than the personal God found in most forms of Christianity. Remember, in Judaism(of which Kabbalism comes from) God is a vengeful God. Extremely vengeful. Now, we all know the story of Cain & Abel. Cain would be one generation away from God(from Eve, for in Judaism lineages are counted only through the woman). Which would, in this crackpot theory, make God(sonof)Zillah Eight generations from God. That's higher than 7. 8. That's blasphemous. Sounds about right for the living embodiment of nuclear hell-fire and pain, doesn't it?
You know what I want? I want Godzilla.
Godzilla: Retalitation of the Millennians.
alot of those above are cheesy.
The incident in the beginning of the film happens at the JanJIRA plant. 15 years later, the "Janjira monster" comes back again, the way they identify godzilla is by the infamous incident that happened at Jan-Jira, calling it Go-JIRA. Still dont know how they will get the "go" part though.
Enough with the go green crap. I love hedorah, but I hate the whole "were killing the earth! Go green!"
It would be a sequelish thing where one of the destoroyahs little forms survived the fall and replicated. And it would be the last movie in G14 series. (Probably around G19)
Godzilla vs Destoroyah: A Final Cataclysm
But in all seriousness the idea that Godzilla's name is actually an abbreviations seems like a cool idea!
Very nice.

v
take a look at my sig pweese haha..
Well Gojira means "Gorilla" and "Whale" in Japanese. Zilla means "Shawdow. So I guess they would be like "Oh my God that gorilla like creature is massive it's bigger than a whale, and it's darker than shadows.
i think they gonna call him "Nautilus" or something like that
Well maybe it would go off of the closest mythological creature (dragon, godzilla, ect.) just to keep it with a recocnizable name to refere to while there are multiple giants.
also there is a whole part in japan. I'm sure the Japanese nuclear crisis in the movie have them dub it.
even though godzilla was dying he was in an overload. Destoroyah had survived an absolute overload and only died by luck (I honestly don't want to believe he's dead I actually am working on a short film on one juvenile Destoroyah survived and it grew back)
Hard to say? I remember gareth saying that the g word is not thrown around in this movie. They might call him a number like m1 if they call him a muto which i don't think they will. We just have to wait and see.
Thanks, genius. I meant: how do you think they come up with the name GODZILLA and how do they reveal it in the film?
Japan just can take the turtle snuff film...
Eh, they will need to release the SHMA 2014 figure before I make that call. I mean, I'm 95% sure the SHMA will take the cake, but I can't be certain until I see it, read some reviews, etc. I'm incredibly disappointed that their 'July' release was essentially a redo of a figure they've already made :-(
I see Monarch as the "Sector 7" of Godzilla (sorry bout the transformer reference...)
not sure if that's what monarch is or not but the part of about Cranston and being a conspiracy theorist and all has already been confirmed to be the story in some ign articles among others
Godzilla battling mechagodzilla honestly is a plot I'd like to see.
but well said from a tank general...
"Why build an expensive mech when you can build my tanks that can accomplish everything they can"
Sorry guys I should have cleared this up sooner- the skeleton IS a Godzilla skeleton. IGN had a spoiler article and talked about when they visited the set during filming and they said they visited the set when they were filming the scene that was in the trailer with the huge bones and they also said that the skeleton was, indeed, that of an ancient Godzilla that had died. So yes it is in fact a Godzilla skeleton.
I really do love this dark, serious undertone Gareth is taking. Its nice to see a monster movie that's actually living up to it's name.
You lucky son of a gun!!! Although I doubt any survival kit would be of any good against Godzilla :)
