Godzilla Possibly Coming Sooner than Expected! [FALSE INFO]

MemberMothra LarvaeMarch 31, 20144558 Views41 RepliesI was searching around for some new Godzilla info when I came across a possible new release date for the movie. I then searched 'Godzilla 2014 Release Date' and it says that the movie is coming out on April 18th instead of May 16th! Is this real or not? Here's a picture: http://imgur.com/2HhgJ6I
EDIT FROM GMAN: The info is false.
Guys,
This is not real and it's not an April Fools prank. Google confused the image of the new movie with Railto's theatrical re-release of the original Godzilla (1954) which has a 98 minute runtime and is being re-released this April.

Okay, now this is a shock to me. When in the world did this happen?
Pardon my language, but, IF THIS IS TRUE I WILL FUCKING CRY!!
^- I searched it myself. It isn't a bluff.
What confuses me is that all other official sources still state May 16th.

I think it just happened today, the Godzilla Facebook page posted a new picture and someone made a comment which made me wonder, so I searched it and sure enough, it's hopefully true. This makes me even more excited for the movie!!!

Hahahaha that's so weird. I just google searched it and got the same wonky result. Must be some kind of glitch or something.
Realistically, the release date is still May 16th. If you check any of the official channels, that's how it's still listed.
It's just weird that the google search results show that. I was expecting this to be a hardcore photoshop fake, but I tried it for myself, and whaddyaknow? Haha, that's a cool glitch, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for the early release date.

Just wanted to air this in case it was missed:
Official release date moved to May 15th according to the Godzilla facebook. So.... Still earlier than the 16th, right? xD
No idea about 18th April. I'd love it if that were the case though - for both the US and us here in the UK!
yeah ANANASATOM that's basically correct.
Guys, this is a Google error of some kind. Not an official change of release date. Unless the official channels change it (which they probably won't) the release is the same as it has always been.
Don't get overly excited. You'll just be setting yourself up for disappointment.
I am not biting the bait. It's only a joke. Besides, the verdict is clear, Godzilla will be released May 16th in USA and on May 14th in France (yeah, i'm french). But nice try.

Google it, @GodzillaFrance, first thing that popped up for me.
I really hope it's not true. There has yet to be a single commericial for this movie on TV. The closest we got to TV time is a candy bar commercial. I've talked with people that had no idea a new Godzilla movie was coming out because the marketing has been garbage. If the release date is May 16th hopefully they'll be able to get some marketing done.

So why would Google have their release date as the 18th? A mistake? Maybe a new trailer date? The day we'll see trailers on TV? What do you think

No I checked twitter and it still says may 16th on the Godzilla official page and Legendary's page So I guess it's either still the 16th or the 15th in the UK only since its not on the us fb page only the UK

I doubt this is real. It could an April Fool's Day joke. On a different note, somebody share the #Demand to Know thing on the Godzilla Facebook page and find out what it is.
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemingway.

Don't make it 18th... My friends birthday is may 16th and we were going to the midnight release :D

@Duratok, i googled your research but i finally find the truth. I'm gonna be serious about it, it's a big joke.

btw guys it has always said 18th of april when you type in the Godzilla 2014 release date on google

All of you wont see this comment, and I am going to laugh at the anger that ensues when this is proven to be an April Fools joke. Notice how this is only on the UK movie page.

Maybe an early screening? Though I'd guess its an April Fool's joke pulled by Legendary.

This is literally the easiest thing in the world to debunk. Google April 2014 movie releases. Go to the first result, movieinsider.com. You'll see there, plain as day, that the ORIGINAL Godzilla (1954) is getting its limited rerelease with Rialto starting that day. The runtime of that movie just happens to be 98 minutes. Google isn't perfect, it makes mistakes just like anyone. Do a bit of research for yourselves next time, guys.
"April Fool's" anyone? (rolls eyes moves on to something else....anything else)

when was the last time a major motion picture changed its release date less than 2 months before it is scheduled originally? plus, movies tend to come out on wednesdays or fridays

I don't know when to ditch school to see this movie any more!
\"SKREEONGK!\" -Godzilla

I for one am not buying this why release it sooner this doesn't make any sense to me.

Guys,
It's not an April Fools prank. And it's not real either. FriendlyFactCheck is right. Google confused the new movie with Railto's theatrical re-release of the original Godzilla (1954) which has a 98 minute runtime and is being re-released this April.
Case closed.

That's not a glitch. Rialto Pictures is going to rerelease Godzilla 1954 across the country on April 18, 2014. So it's probably just some confusion. You can check out the dates and information here:
