Yeah, I agree with Godzilla vs. Destoroyah as well. Yes, the music was good, the costumes were awesome, and the ending is heart-aching. However, the rest of the film (the parts that take up most of the film) is kinda boring and uninteresting. Also, Godzilla doesn't even defeat Destoroyah, the army did! :O

The most overrated kaiju, definitely King Ghidorah. Gigan and Kiryu are very close. I know King Ghidorah is the most recognizable monster villain but he's not as cool as everyone blows him up to be.

I can see many people calling Godzilla 2014 the BEST Godzilla movie ever (or second best, only to the 1954 version). Some already have. 

I myself am going to have a hard time separating my bias from this film (being only the third Godzilla movie I've ever seen in theaters, it being done in English by a good cast,....and it not having aging special effects, etc.) to give it an objective ranking. This movie will probably get a higher rating from me than it would get if I had grown up in Japan, watching Godzilla films for awhile. 

For others, who this might be the VERY FIRST Godzilla movie they've ever seen in theaters, I imagine that bias will mulitply greatly. I can see where G-Man is coming from in that he's already calling it over-rated. 

That being said, over-rated does not mean it's bad. Even a GREAT movie can still be over-rated. Over-rated or not, I'm sure Godzilla 2014 will be awesome and I'll enjoy it very much.

Yeah, I'm not sure Godzilla's Revenge is at the top of my list. Probably at the bottom, to be honest. XD Also, about the new 2014 movie: if that movie turns out to be good, I'll get it instantly, whether or not I have the money, lol.

Sorry that this response it a little late, guys.

It was a 'mystery' in the 90's, when it happened. We have since gathered more evidence, heard similar sounds (the original Bloop was unique for it's time), and pretty much confirmed it was an icequake. That's not me being pretentious. That's just reading pretty much any scientific article on the subject that's not outdated and/or from 1997. 

I'm not going to argue that science never gets it wrong. Obviously in the past, due to a lack of information or 'outside the box' thinking we had backwards understanding of many topics. There are plenty of subjects even today where there are strong dissident groups in the scientific community. Issues like the Big Bang, Global Warming, String Theory, how General Relativity reconciles with Quantum Mechanics, and certain subjects in cloning have sharp divisions in the debate where the 'minority' can be larger than 1/3 of the scientists publishing in respected journals. On some of these issues, the minority may wind up to be correct, even though most news outlets and K-12 textbooks don't even print that a minority exists. 

Other topics, like wormholes and certain mysteries of the human brain, we really don't have a clue; our understanding of these things is quite limited and 50-100 years from now our understanding will probably not resemble anything like our current understanding today.

But 'The Bloop' really isn't one of these topics. If you look at credible scientists (there are always fringe quacks who have degrees who can vouch for some radical opinion or another...I remember reading an article by a professor advocating that all humans commit mass suicide because he believed we were developing weapons which would destroy the universe, so to save the universe and all potential alien life, the human race had to die...they just usually aren't published in respected journals) they pretty much acknowledge that The Bloop was a geological event, not an organism.

While science may fallible, there are topics we have enough evidence and observation to pretty much rely on as fact at this point. Things like gravity, the rock and water cycle, how a chloroplast works, we do pretty much know. Yes, a dose of healthy skepticism is good, but refusing to rely on anything at all as true or scientifically proven, is way less healthy and deconstructive than admitting from time to time, yes we might actually KNOW something.

To rely on the opposite assumption, that NOTHING is ever proven, and dismissing all science because scientists have been wrong before, basically impedes ALL progress and understanding towards any topic, because you have to have building blocks, assumptions you make, or things you know to be true, before you can experiment or explore deeper directions. If EVERYTHING is a mystery, we're basically stuck banging rocks together in loin cloths; you won't build a wheel if you don't know it will roll. 

Similarly, we won't learn more about icequakes or their impacts if all our research subs are looking for the giant kaiju that caused The Bloop. 

I'm not trying to troll, but I feel that King Kong is Godzilla's ultimate foe. The big G couldn't get the job done against King Kong, and I'm not sure he still could.

I demand a rematch!

That MUTO creature looks like one evil motherf***er! Like a mix of Starship Troopers & Alien. And I love these front shots of Godzilla! They really give away the real rotund ponderous look that conveys so much more of G-Man's raw power!

go for it, if she still isn't convinced then the movie itself will, even if she doesn't watch it, if the movie does live up to it's hype then loads of reviews will probably convince her or even those relatives or friends that will convince her

im not being mean but are you seriously going to stop being a fan of godzilla because your mother thinks godzilla is a for kids and she laughed at the footage of the new movie. due, i am the only person in my family that likes godzilla, my brother mocks me, my mum and dad think godzilla is for children, did that stop me being a fan, NO. g-fans have always had to deal with criticism of godzilla, but that doesn't stop them. are you seriously embarassed about being a godzilla fan. there's nothing wrong with it. if you want to quit thats up to you, but you want to stop being a fan becuase your mother does not like it. i'm sure that your mother can still take you to watch the movie, even if she has laughed at it, you must have other releateives or firends that will take you to watch it as well if your mother doesn't. i'm 18 and my family is going to watch it with me, including my older brother who mocks me for being a godzilla fan (in a joking way).

At first view of MUTO toys, I thought cloverfield, now I see resemblance of the head (mouth) to this arachnid from Starship Troopers. Original monster maybe, but not so original looking... Stll looks wicked.

Devianteist and something real you guys are ture friends and behind thet comeputer is someone that is really nice but some of the people i know can be D***s but that when i beat the crap out of them i'am only 11 almost 12 and Smaug if i was wasting your time then why did you come in because maybe it was just a waste of your time and that word was not to the people on this site. It is me, or the muto looks a bit "mechanic"? I mean, check the HD image and it is posible to see "joints" on the wings. The mouth is also too square for been biologic.

I am not saying it is robot, ok? I am just saying that it looks "artificial" at some point.
