Oh wow. Stepped up a gear - yet again - from hardly any footage! The hype machine continues to fire on all cylinders :D 

 

The MUTO here looks terrifying. The toys really didn't give it away but blimey that's one evil-looking creature! Very much in the vein of the Aliens from the Alien franchise - something of whuc I am totally fine with. :D

i cant believe how badass godzilla is going to be in this movie i have said this a thousand times and ill say it again this movie is going to stomp the theathers in the ground go go godzilla. :)

I don't get it..is it Vishnu or muto?it doesn't look like muto at all..I'm confused. It doesnt look like the toy.it looks like Vishnu..can someone help me out?

That MUTO creature looks like one evil motherf***er! Like a mix of Starship Troopers & Alien. And I love these front shots of Godzilla! They really give away the real rotund ponderous look that conveys so much more of G-Man's raw power!

This Muto looks like a larvae which could evolve into the flying Muto. Mothra or Battra?

I\'m not 100% sure, but that creature looks like the flying muto. It\'s jaw structure looks identical to the flying muto\'s.

Barely could see the MUTO here, so can't really comment on it.

But the Godzilla head-on shot is good in that it shows his spikes to be the right size. The only thing is that mouth doesn't look 100% right from the head-on view.

Definitely looks like the winged MUTO, you could see its wings in the screenshot.

If you look closely to you can see the MUTO's red eye.

This Godzilla just looks plain mean and pissed off but it is so awesome! This will be epic!

it looks to me that thats the winged muto if you look closely and the jaw looks like the one in the toys

 

it kinda reminds me of a rhino beetle.   this movie isnt even out yet and i cant wait for the next one    wtf may 16th needs to get here!!!!

I believe that the MUTO's legs are obscured by an elevated road-like surface and we are only seeing his upper half and the wings are still partly furled.  If you cover the lower half o0f the toy you may see a better resemblance.

I agree with Ant's theory. This is caterpillar muto. The glowing hanging thing in the international trailer is cocoon muto and the flying muto is the end product.

I can't wait for the movie - but does anyone else have goofy feelings about the scale of Godzilla? He seems to be large in posters, really large surfacing during the atoll bombing - and all sorts of sizes in between. There doesn't seem to be any consistancy with the scale of the monster.

 

It's my first post - so I'm blabbering a bit. Can't wait till May!

Hey there, regarding Godzilla's scale - the poster sizes can't really be taken as canon; it's a common occurence to upscale things on posters if not simply for aesthetic reasons. For example:

As for all the clips we've seen, well there's very little to judge the Big G against so it's hard to tell! Granted, in the atoll bombing there is a nuke but we don't know how big said weapon is etc etc... Honestly, the best thing to do will probably be to wait and see his size in the movie. It/s been stated he's some 350ft tall, and Gareth Edwards doesn't seem like he'll deviate from that size (being as though this is meant to be a more realistic take on Godzilla!)

 

Hope that clears things up a bit? Maybe it doesn't, but that's how I see the Godzilla size thing :)

In the original trailer - there were "claws" in the last scene that matched neither Godzilla or flying Muto. They would match a mean caterpillar though.

I'm not saying I'm right. Just throwing the possibility out there.

 

@cspyro - good answers. Not sure I agree with them. But I definitely understand the overstating of the monsters size on the posters. HOWEVER - the monster whose spines break the water at the atoll - in scale to the island itself - lends itself to the scale of the original "monster behind transamerica building poster" more then anything else.

Conversely - the scenes in Hawaaii - Honolulu or where ever, he's again small statured. The latest poster of him behind a building with the soldiers on it - lend to a smaller size. But in the trailer - they shoot flares at something enormous.

With everything thats unbelieveably cool about thios marketing campaign - the seemingly shifting size scale continues to catch my, probably over critical, eye.

 

 

mabey I'm beating a dead horse here.. but I still think that there are 2 G's one 350 tall.. the other waaay taller and bigger... noting the spinal plates in the above pic. I'm sure I'll get flack for this comment. but hey.. it still would be cool.
