I agree it would be a perfect time to get the word out... Ill keep my fingers crossed when watching all of the games.
Here we go again..... Godzilla 2014 Rules, there's already topics spefically made for this subject.
Kumonga. Cause of the legs
This movie keeps looking more and more incredible.
I love the footsteps every time you click something.
Toho has been helping on this film, so they didn't technically rip anything off, The M.U.T.O are insect like creatures. If Toho didn't want something in the film it wouldn't be in it. They studios have a close relationship!
And If you compare Godzilla 2014 to the Japenese Godzillas Godzilla 2014's spikes are to Little.
Monster X,Zilla,Manda,Keizer Ghidorah,Ebirah,Kumonga,Hedorah, and all of The Godzilla Suits,
Oh i forgot The New Muto Monster and all of the new godzilla monsters coming up in [Godzilla 2014]
Gigan,and Maybe Rodan.
Big G has been hitting walter whites blue sky meth rots your teeth out dontcha know
Ya thats tiny, it looks awesome but couldnt even use that for the background of my phone. :-(
I read the "inspired by" interviews too, but he goes on and says something like
one of them is kind of a rip off of a Toho monster,
idk why he'd single out one if it's just basic inspiration.
Ok i know what to call it Irradiated what ever it is ok perfect i dont think so but tell me what you think and The earth is radiated but what can we call him tho.
I've always thought of Godzilla as a mutated saurian lifeform. Yamane doesn't explicitly say that in the '54 original, but it's strongly implied. I also don't think the 'mutated by nuclear radiation' angle can be discounted, either, for a couple of reasons. One, no dinosaur, or prehistoric lifeform, could ever be that large naturally; it couldn't survive. Secondly, I don't think it's physically possible for any living organism to absorb large amounts of nuclear radiation without some form of alteration/mutation to it's physiology. Godzilla has atomic breath, FGS, how can that possibly be a natural ability?
@ AKAGI: I don't see how you could possibly see the '54 original as "boring", it IS a masterpiece. It's also the one Godzilla movie that the general public IS familiar with; it's been on television countless times, everyone's seen it. Gareth Edwards is accessing the tone and feel of the original for this new film, as has been noted before. To each his/her/it's own and all of that, but I hope you're not disappointed in this movie.
In a different interview he used the words 'inspired by' instead of 'ripped off'. I think the mutos being inspired by a Toho monster is more accurate.
If I were to guess, I would say Monster X. The overall shape of his head and red eyes loosely reminds me of the Muto.
That's a good one, never looked at Gigan that way, but makes some sense. I wouldn't call it a rip off though, maybe he was just being humble.
I see a lot of Gigan in the Flying Muto. They moth have wings, hooked arms, and a beak. The Mutos even seem to have visor-like eyes, much like Gigan.
I wouldnt just drop the idea that Rodan wont be in the film. Things can change it wouldnt be lieing ive seen this happen before. Fyi that does not look like a spider or praying mantis. they said it was insect type creature. Eaither they did a terrible job making that look like a insect or thats Rodan. I maybe wrong but, you cant be so sure he is not in it. Toho is working with them so I have no doubt that they wont throw him in there to spice it up. Also when they asked him about Rodan he basicly said he wasnt going to get into that. Like I said I maybe wrong but there is a high chance.
a pic of muto leg
spider concept
as you can see if they work right no resemblance to the winged creature.
That Flying Bug Not Mothra or Battra
@Daikaiju_Danielle
Okay, then. Just curious. :)
I agree! It would be a really cool feature!
It's very tiny on my screen
@Godkilla2000
Thanks. :)
That, if extended a bit, would make a great feature of the Godzilla bluray/dvd
I will pray for you that this problem will fix itself
Wow that looks so cool
You call that a muto? that's one giant ass muto taking a little plunge in the bay for an evening swim:p hopefully big dady G dosent come around and laugh at the little guy WHICH IS A FUCKING PLANE! GOD stop making theses stupid post!
i like this new onw becuase 1. there is finally a dialogue with aaron talyor johnson that isn't just 1 phrase, 2. elizebeth olsen also gets dialoge and i like how she's really scared and 3. that shot with godzilla hand touching the ground
I'm so curious as to what happened to Godzilla in that last scene! did he trip or was he pushed down? SO MANY QUESTIONS!
its free!!!! why am i doing here!!!!
Yeah! It does look like Gamera! :O
The resemblance is uncanny!

But in all seriousness, that's quite silly. The figure at the :23 mark is the Winged Muto.
