Since he is a living creature, he has to have slightly different roars and sounds or else he will sound purely mechanical and he won't be a believable creature on screen.
Damn. They are dropping these like crazy now...
BETTA - You obviously did not watch the trailer at all if you think it's a Muto. Just watch the trailer again, and the only thing you'll see is a plane spiraling down and out of control. The picture you have provided was the plane caught at an awkward angle right before it goes into the water, but it is in fact a plane.
I don't want to sound mean, but it seems to be a growing trend online with things like this so I'll tell you one time BETTA: Use this llittle thing called common sense and pay attention to detail and things like this will never confuse you again.
Thank you.
True, just saying why I can understand how people are under the impression he is mutated. It's left in the air in the case of the original as to if absorbing the radiation changed him at all, the fact he got the radioactive breath which I can assume is from that, rather than having it to begin with is 1 mutation, but that's all speculation he may have had that from the beginning.
As for him not being a dinosaur and being a cross between that and a marine reptile, true but essentially the only difference between the marine reptiles and dinosaurs is 1 lived in the ocean so saying he's a cross between the 2 is essentially saying a dinosaur that could live underwater, so it equates to pretty much that same category as dinosaur to me.
His hand is positively massive. I'm guessing one of the MUTOs knocked him down in this scene?
Wow great find. Looks like godzilla got on all fours at the end there. Fighting stance maybe, atomic breath position? We'll just have to see the movie to find out. I prefer the first TV spot more
I must agree with FREE5.
Everything we've learned about both Godzilla and the Muto's both from Gareth Edwards directly in his interviews and other information leaks from Legendary says that they're both ancient creatures that have been here for a very long time.
It's an interesting theory, and maybe you could use it in a fanfic, but there is documented information and interviews with Gareth Edwards that confirm that both Godzilla and the Muto's have been around for a very long time. This theory of yours cannot be true for this movie with this information in hand. But again, it was an interesting theory that might make a good fanfic.
Well, either way, Godzilla is most certainly one of, if not THE, last of a species of ancient reptiles that were mutated and evolved with ample radiation to further bolster these mutations until it became naturally passed on through their own genetics. Access to a radiaoactive source adds to the natural radiation-augmented evolutionary process, only at an accelerated rate affecting the animal positively within its own lifespan.
Whatever creature Godzilla's species used to be was accustomed to both land and sea, with evolved gills to show for it, even though they'd likely not serve the original purpose of breathing underwater for necessity in the later generations of the species line due to their immense size and internal "reactor organ system" providing energy and other staple compounds needed as substitutes for direct intake from outside sources.
The more successful the individual creature, the more likely it is to grow into immense sizes and develop more powerful exotic abilities and adaptations, as seen with the beautifully powerful but possibly lone Godzilla. Sorta like the battle-scarred and very aged King Kong, but for giant monsters instead, with millions of years in mind.
it also seems that gareth perfered the original's take on godzilla's origin, the big thing that ''in 1954 we awakened something'' is definatly similar to the originals take on his origin, which is still mostly a mystery. if you belive that godzilla is a muated dinosaur that's fine, but some fans have been bashing at non godzilla fans for either asking why does godzilla look like a dinosaur or if they call godzilla a mutant lizard
@Durp004
Due to the vagueness of the original films theorizing and the idea that Yamane uses the dinosaur era as an example, I can see the assumption and argument made for Godzilla coming from some sort of dinosaur family. However, I don't recall him ever flat out saying he was a dinosaur, but specifically a, "cross between land and sea reptile" and that he wasn't necessarily mutated, but "awakened".
What shatters Yamane's world is that Godzilla survived being awakened. In conjunction with that the filmmakers designed Godzilla's skin in the original film to look "burned" or scarred from atomic fires.
Everything from there is just assumption. Maybe he was mutated. Maybe not. We don't really know for certain. But that's part of the joy of the original's origin. I tend to lean more torward Yamane though: Godzilla simply woke up and he absorbed the atomic energies rather than be mutated by them.
Let's get big g the worlds biggest cake, evil monsters take a break trying to kill him and celebrate his bday, stomp on buildings for fun, and meet Gareth edwards to be in a new movie to celebrate it.lol
Well it's said Godzilla is a dinsaur, but the he also absorbed a huge amount of radiation, since we never see godzilla prior to his absorption of the radiation we can't say if he's mutated or not. He may not necessarily have been a Godzillasaurus, but chances are he's still changed from the original monster before being subjected to the radiation. Since the heisei shows a monster prior to the absorption most people associate it with that.
So while I can't say for this new one I can say you could argue either way about his mutation since, as I said we never see him beforehand.
@cb1
Hey there, regarding Godzilla's scale - the poster sizes can't really be taken as canon; it's a common occurence to upscale things on posters if not simply for aesthetic reasons. For example:
As for all the clips we've seen, well there's very little to judge the Big G against so it's hard to tell! Granted, in the atoll bombing there is a nuke but we don't know how big said weapon is etc etc... Honestly, the best thing to do will probably be to wait and see his size in the movie. It/s been stated he's some 350ft tall, and Gareth Edwards doesn't seem like he'll deviate from that size (being as though this is meant to be a more realistic take on Godzilla!)
Hope that clears things up a bit? Maybe it doesn't, but that's how I see the Godzilla size thing :)
well after seeing abit of gameplay and what they say about the game, it does seem quite good. really the big thing is that it is free

All true. Even though it's all been discussed at length elsewhere, but you did point that out in your defense.
I think the Godzillasaurus thing just caught on because it's so finite-- at least to the Heisei Godzilla. Some fans want every little detail spelled out for them and the Heisei movies do just that.
I also blame the Trendmasters trading cards from back in 1994, but maybe I'm the only one around here who remember those... :/
I agree with Ant's theory. This is caterpillar muto. The glowing hanging thing in the international trailer is cocoon muto and the flying muto is the end product.
I can't wait for the movie - but does anyone else have goofy feelings about the scale of Godzilla? He seems to be large in posters, really large surfacing during the atoll bombing - and all sorts of sizes in between. There doesn't seem to be any consistancy with the scale of the monster.
It's my first post - so I'm blabbering a bit. Can't wait till May!
My favorite Godzilla is Biogoji aka the 1 from Godzilla vs Biollante. I prefer the legendary Godzilla's body structure, no doubt due to the fact it wasn't constructed with an actors mobility in mind, but so far I really prefer the Biogoji's face. I'm not too big a fan of the new face. It's not horrible, but definitely not my favorite.
1. it's a plane, if you watch the tv spot in high def you would see
2. don't be biting people's head just becuase you are wrong by a long shot
3. @GARYZILLA just pared you on your knowledge of aviation vehicles
Thanks MECHA G,Philizawa,ORGA,Smaug,GMAN :)
ok can someone tell me how the f**** i'm supposed to insert an image of my own, why the hell does this website only allow you to use internet images
These look f**king AWESOME!!!!!
this will be epic. godzila looks amazing.
You're so 14 hours late, bro
Sorry, it was a typo.
holly crap, thats the best fan made Godzilla 2014 trailer Ive seen.
props man, that's great!
It looks as if the man-made object in the foreground is an elevated object of some sort. Maybe a building or whatever. But I think the MUTO is massive. We still havent seen a full body shot of it or G to be frank.
That looks awesome!
So excited for this movie!
The description on one of the toys implies that the Mutos have been around at least as long as Godzilla has, so they may not have been created by humans. But there are also vague hints that they were at least genetically modified by humans afterward.
So, this particular MUTO is most definitely one of the two variations we've seen in the toys so far. However, it's still up for debate about which one it represents. They're obviously of the same general species, or at least related heavily, but I have a feeling that this captured MUTO may be the flyng variety, since it seems like it would be the smaller version of the species, and the fact that taking out an aerial creature mid-flight would leave it more vulnerable than normal, thus alloing easier capture.
I believe that the MUTO's legs are obscured by an elevated road-like surface and we are only seeing his upper half and the wings are still partly furled. If you cover the lower half o0f the toy you may see a better resemblance.
Hello JUNKERDE,The flash was on for 2 of the shots so he may look a little lime greeny in those shots, especially the tail. The 3rd picture, the front shot of him is really the color he is. He is actually a really dark brownish green. Thanks everyone for the kind words.
Game looks sick!
it kinda reminds me of a rhino beetle. this movie isnt even out yet and i cant wait for the next one wtf may 16th needs to get here!!!!
Godzilla looks incredible, like I don't think they could have done a better job in protraying Godzilla so far
There's no sense in this staying open.
This Muto reminds me of the dead kaiju of the SDCC 2012 trailer.
Very good work, I loved it!
