the new godzilla, the battles between the monsters, and the destruction
that's the 3rd post on the same topic today. unnecessary
might be clones of fossils found in the sinkholes. i also think they are created as biological weapons not against godzilla but against other nations. they gotten out on accident and they start destroying things and godzilla senses them in his territory and a battle insues. thats my two cents
That does sound like a good idea, but in Blu-ray because I have them all in DVD.
If this is true then i can see the creation of the MUTO's happening 1 of 2 ways. Either they're engineered to pretect us against Godzilla and other Kaiju or its the classic science experiment gone wrong. They may even have honorable intentions if the latter is true, growing these creatures because they posess something that can aid mankind (like Deep Blue Sea when they grew the sharks brains to harvest..whatever it was they wanted :) I'm still really interested to see how they bring Godzilla into the mix and whether not it will be linked to the MUTO creation in any way. May can't come soon enough!
Chances are we'll see a lot of new releases around the time the film comes to theaters. I can't beleive I'm saying this in a third thread, but there will never be a full 28/29 movie box set. It's not possible.
that would be awesome i only have 18 godzilla films on bluray and dvd
Why do we need a new thread for this? This easily could have been intigrated into the other thread...
And it won't happen because of everything I just explained in the other thread.
i like the plot detail but how will the government "CREATE" the mutos?
Yeah, there looks to be some other movies in Region 2 as well, but I don't think they're in your prefered language. Godzilla vs. Destroyah seems to be available in Sweden. And I'm seeing a few from Germany as well, but I don't think any, other than the ones you mentioned, are subbed or dubbed in English.
You can wait and see if the new movie produces more interest to release these films where you live, but otherwise I'd recommend getting a Region Free DVD player and importing from countries that do have it.
Also the arms could be curved in so they could be larger.
well there is only gojira from bfi for the uk on dvd and no bluray, only vhs. poland got a dvd copy of G:FW. thats all i know
That be cool but I think its best if the make a seperate box set for each series.
I'm unfamiliar with the Godzilla rights in countries outside of North America and Japan. I'll have to do some research on that, but I imagine Toho treats other regions similarly and sells them to several different distribution companies per country. It's unlikely any country (other than Japan) will ever see a complete boxset.
well i hope they release those movies inplaces that can't get godzilla movies with their region code like the UK and the rest of europe.
Are we talking about Japan or America? Because there's issues with both.
First is that they've already done this in Japan with the Godzilla Final Box: Click Here
But that's DVD only. Toho has not completed releasing the Godzilla movies on bluray yet.
Second, it is unlikely that a Godzilla box set with every film will be released in America within the next 20 to 30 years. Even then is unlikely so I'm going to go ahead and say there will never be a complete box set for the Godzilla series in America. Here's the problem-- Different companies in America own the video rights to different Godzilla movies, take a look:
Classic Media/Criterion: Godzilla (1954)
Classic Media: Godzilla Raids Again, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster, Monster Zero, Godzilla's Revenge, Terror of MechaGodzilla
Media Blasters: Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla vs. Megalon
Universal: King Kong vs. Godzilla
Echo Bridge: Godzilla vs. Biollante
Sony: Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth, Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, Godzilla vs. Destroyah, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla x Megaguirus, Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah, Godzilla x MechaGodzilla, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., Godzilla Final Wars
A Black Hole: Godzilla (1984)
Currently No American Distribution Company Owns: Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster, Son of Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla
So the Godzilla films that have American distributers are stretched across 7 different companies. It is unlikely 7 companies will agree to come together and create one boxset for a niche franchise. It just won't happen.
In order for that to happen all the rights for these movies will have to revert to Toho and Toho will have to sell them to just one distributor. That's unlikely to happen, because Toho likes making money off of other companies selling their product. Plus the rights for all the Sony Godzilla movies don't expire until 2025. Classic Media recently renewed their rights, so they have Godzilla for another decade or so as well. That's a long time before Toho gets the American distribution rights back. If it were to happen, it have to happen likely after 2025 or 2030.
I'd love to have a single Godzilla boxset, but the likelyhood of that happening is literally zilch. It would be cool though...
well hopefully toho recognizes that it's not 'just' americans who love godzilla, they really do not recognise the value of a international audience.
Here's some Muto artwork. By the way none of this is my artwork. This is other peoples artwork.

The next two won't post so here's the links.
And a picture of the new Godzilla and a picture of his silhouette.

Good point but since TOHO owns Godzilla I think they can work something out with all the companys that worked on godzilla. It's a must now, it's also a good time since this new movie is creating such hype.
a problem about this that how do the re-release the dvd/blu-rays, who's distrubuting it, will tristar cause troubles because they put godzilla vs king ghidorah 1991-godzilla final wars on dvd, and smaller companies including bfi(uk)/criteion collection(us) have released gojira recently.
Yeah that would be good but regaurdless of price I would purches them. Maybe if everyone talks and brings it up enough eventually someone at TOHO will catch word, would be pretty cool in my opinion.
i watched g1998 on vhs loved it as a kid(3/4 years old), then maybe a year (memory is a little blurred) my first toho godzilla movie was (unfortunatly) ebirah horror of the deep (godzilla vs the sea monster in the us). at first i liked the 1998 movie more, then when i watched the movies online (back then and still today the only way if you live outside the us) and godzilla save the earth, i was then hucked for the rest of my life.
i'd prefer 150-200$/£ for blu ray and 90-150$/£ for dvd
sounds awesome but i'd lower the price
The arms are a tad small, but who knows? We haven't seen the full design yet!
That's an awesome drawing either way! I like the dorsal fins especially. :)
mc donald or kfc because they are one of the 3 big fast-food places in places like europe, taco bell (to my knowledge) is an american only ff resturant.

Thanks Chris, I'll do that next time.
@AKIO123 You've done a better job of describing what I was trying to communicate. I think the introduction to Godzilla (his first attack) will be, like you say, done from varying human perspectives. I can definitely envisage it being a normal day, everyone is going about their business until suddenly all hell breaks loose but at this point in the film the source of the carnage is a mystery so shots of Godzilla will be like eye witness accounts. That's not to say taht the audience will be starved of Godzilla footage like in Cloverfield, it just means it will be a very human experience. Think of it like this - a tornado has a very distinct, recognisable form from a distance but if you were to be suddenly caught up in that storm without warning all you would experience is howling winds, darkness and debris. This is how I imagine the first encounter with godzilla. That shot of the man stood atop the fallen skyscraper surveying the destruction around him may well be one of the few survivors of this first attack and the audience will be as taken aback by the city laid to waste as he is.
You can simply copy and paste pictures from other websites into the editor here and they'll show up. Just for future reference, I added the pic for you here. :)
Yeah, but still it's very close.
the head seems to be based on the 2012 comic con teaser sillhouette because the neck in the drawing is too thick, in the offical trailer the neck seems to be more slimmer.
if they do i also hope they release them internationally, no offence to you guys in america but only you lot have got godzilla in english in region 1, im from the uk so i have to use region 2, that really pisses me off.
i think they should come out when the 2014 godzilla comes to dvd because then there can be a whole box collection counting the 2014 godzilla dvd
I was thinking the samething, I dont see why not, we could see another Toho Ltd. Godzilla series along with the new Legendary film sequel's. Too much money involved not to do it.
Mc Donalds sounds kind of Wack IMO, how about Taco Bell or Carls Jr. ?? it's alittle more adult instead of childish.
Doing something with McDonald's would be huge since a lot of kids and their parents go there to eat. I wouldn't be surprised if 7-11 does a promotion as well. I've seen them do promos with superhero movies including large size mugs.
this movie needs a lot of hype to be succesful, i hope they play the 'good' godzilla movies on tv either movie channels or freeview channels like channel 4 (uk channel).
