MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 9:17 PMSo ive been thinkin about this for awhile now and I wanna share my opinion and ask for your guys opinions or thoughts about what music should be at the end of Godzilla for the credits. First of all, what I think, and of course, that the end credits music will basically just be the movie's very own soundtrack or score, just like all of Legendary's other movies like Man of Steel, The Dark Knight, Pacific Rim and so onn. But if the end credits was just to have a song from an artist or band, then I would MOST DEFINETELY PREFER the song "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. The reason why that song should be in the end credits is because obviously, Godzilla's radioactive ;D but you guys might say the song wouldnt fit the more serious and realistic tone for the movie and dont worry I agree too im just saying that if the movie doesnt use its own soundtrack or score for the credits then Radioactive would be pretty cool to end the movie that way. So what do you G-fans think? Should the movie's end credits music be the movie's own soundtrack or score, or Radioactive by Imagine Dragons? Or if dont like those choices then what other song would you want? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjavNRfo3tg for those of you who dont know the song "Radioactive", which who doesnt lol, then listen to it right there.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 9:33 PMWhen I read the title of your forum I immediately thought Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, but if they don't do that I say use the movie score or Light E'm Up by Fall Out Boy.

MemberBaragonJan-05-2014 9:38 PMI would like a little dubstep version of the Godzilla theme. The reason for this idea was because when I watched World War Z (great movie by the way), they mixed the World War Z theme with a touch of dub step. It may sound stupid, but it could be effective.
Here is an example of what I mean:http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3MYz19a6QOI
p.s. Sorry, made this through iPad.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 9:40 PM@ShazoTheHedgeHog, if you mean the original theme, what about this?

@DragonLord Tevin, literally before I even clicked your I'm thinking Radioactive. Also this would be kind of cool for the end music.

Maybe, I have listened to that pandoras patriots godzilla theme for a while now and I think that specific theme would fit for the opening, not the ending.

Akio123
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 9:51 PMI think the orignal theme would be a great Tribute. After all, its the sound to Godzilla.

Gojira2K
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 9:52 PM@ShazoTheHedgeHog, I agree. I just listened to it again I agree it would fit the opening better.
@Akio123 I do think they should put it somewhere in the movie as a tribute the original Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 9:55 PM@GOJIRA2K @SHAZOTHEHEDGEHOG Lol I have an upcoming post probably tomorrow about the opening of Godzilla and hopefully I dont get negative comments, but idc and @AKIO123 thats good too I wouldnt really mind that, but only if Legendary also bought the rights of the TOHO Godzilla music

Gojira2K
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 9:59 PMI agree, but a little more upbeat and terrifying.

Akagi
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 10:11 PMThere won't be any Ifukube music in the film.
Toho wouldn't even use his music after his retirement and I highly doubt Legendary will use it after his death.

Dragonlord Tevin
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 10:15 PM@AKAGI Yeah I agree, almost every rebooted movie never uses a classic theme so most likely this film aint gonna have any TOHO music. And like I said, Legendary probably never even bought the music rights as well

Toho did use his music after he retired. He retired in 1995, but they used his themes in Godzilla 2000, Godzilla x Megaguirus, Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah (end credits) and it's heard in the opening and main title of Godzilla Final Wars.
Tht's not the issue. The issue here is, will the original themes work with this new Godzilla? Hard to tell right now, but I'm going to guess no.
I also don't think "songs" will work in the end credits to this Godzilla. Radioactive by Imagine Dragons is a good song, but that doesn't mean it's a good fit for this movie. The sound might be completely off the mood of what this film is trying to accomplish.
Anyone who thinks there is going to be commercial electronica, metal or dubstep in any part of this movie is kidding themselves. At best, there will probably be music that sounds, more or less, similar to what we heard in the trailer.
To have a better idea of what the music is going to sound like I recommend everyone listen to past stuff from the composer of the new Godzilla. His name is Alexandre Desplat. Here's some stuff he's done:
Harry Potter and the Deathly-Hallows Part 2:
Zero Dark Thirty:
The Ides of March:
I think there's a lot in these particular tracks that could represent the new movie.
Gigan2004
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 10:56 PMOk listen, it needs to be the movie's own soundtrack. It can't be pop song or dubstep. Just imagine that being the thing you hear aften a serious, apocalyptic movie. In my opionion that would just be stupid and the ruin the tone.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-05-2014 11:10 PM@GMAN2887 @GIGAN2004
Both of you are smart lol and I aint kidding, i already know this movie is gonna have its own soundtrack to be the end credits, i just thought of hearing other people's opinions but true about what you two said, dubstep or songs by artist wont fit this movie at all and really shouldnt for a film like this with its own tone and stuff

FordBrodyLover99
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-06-2014 5:03 AMThe movies own ending theme. Not some weird, song or dubstep or remix...Just let Alexandre do what he want with thed music. His music is gorgeous!

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-06-2014 12:14 PMI think it would be awesome if they did the same thing they did with the PREDATORS film. Build up the classic theme and then right when the main verse is about to kick off, and the screen goes black, just play the Mothra theme... I know, it would be just trolling the audience, but as a fan I would laugh my ass off!

Those suggestions (except for the Pacific Rim) wouldn't fit for a Godzilla movie. They are too Hard Rock, especially the first one. A piece of music that would fit is a type that would put people in fear. For Example, say when your watching the movie on the big screen (especially in 3D), you want to be able to think: "Holy Crap, that giant lizard is destroying everything in sight! What if I were in that scenario?!" In that moment, to add on to the thought, the music itself will add on to the fear that you and everyone else in the theater will have. The music is the key to expressing a certain scene in the correct way.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-06-2014 7:57 PMAs silly as it sounds I'd like to see them use "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult. Granted it'd probably compromise the movies more serious tone..but still.

Armenta can't seem to find the caps lock button, so I wouldn't bother explaining to him proper cinematic tone.
@LaminatedEffect
Yes. It would compromise the movie.
...other than it being a really dumb, goofy song.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-06-2014 8:55 PMI think it'd be cool if the end credits were silent or you just heard a Geiger Counter click every once in a while. I imagine the film will have a dark and intense, almost abrupt ending and I find it best to soak something like that all in with silence.

Now THAT is an AWESOME idea. How creepy would hearing a geiger counter click for 2 minutes be?
