MemberMothra LarvaeMar-06-2014 7:32 AMYou guys remember the night scene with the soldiers watching godzilla tail take out the side of the building well my theory is that that scene comes after the scene where the three guys are popping flares at godzilla we'll I think that glowing light Is the flares getting shot and also you know how that muto claw comes down and crushs those soldiers we'll I think that happens during all this is happening and godzilla and muto are chasing eachother downhats why i think all the scenes takes place at night

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-06-2014 8:08 AMGosh, I've never taken the time to think about what the Godzilla and MUTO fight scene will be like. The MUTO is only around 20 meters shorter than Godzilla (referring to the toy pictures). if godzilla was chasing it, the MUTO is pretty fast then.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-06-2014 8:12 AMHow bout we go with the obvious, the reflection of red flares on wet, dark skin? If you watch, and I have many times, he doesn't "glow" until the flares get close. My take, is all, seemed pretty straight forward from my first viewing. Perhaps a little overdone with CGI, maybe?

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-06-2014 10:20 AMi think he's saying since the muto glows, the red flares the soldiers are shooting are trying to imitate the MUTO's glow, so its basically a Godzilla and muto chasing eachother to bring attention to one another

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-06-2014 11:45 AMHmm... I don't think that's what's happening, but allow me to please explain my opinion.
Godzilla isn't the type to 'chase' an enemy. I think that night scene with the flares is just the soldiers trying to figure out what the hell Godzilla is. I think that this scene is probably part of the 1999 sequence and is his first major appearance on land after swimming between the ships and causing the tidal wave in the trailer. The soldiers are likely just trying to light him up so everyone can see him in the darkness and figure out what he is so they can start working on trying to bring him down.
That's my opinion anyway.
I don't believe Godzilla is going to 'chase' the Mutos. There has been no confirmation that there is any kind of deep link between the two outside of the metaphorical. Honestly speaking I doubt Godzilla will share any relations with the Mutos whatsoever, and that the 'link' between them is, in my opinion, nothing more than the idea that they possibly share a point of origin in the nuclear realm. But outside of that, I doubt there's going to be any significant link between them that would cause Godzilla to 'chase' the Mutos.
But again, this is just my opinion on the matter.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-06-2014 12:01 PMWhat's strange in that flare scene is that you hear the flares, but that's it. When a 350 foot monster's that close, you hear it. 100% convinced it's for the effect for tthe trailer, and the movie will be different with sound added in...unless Godzilla's wearing sneakers? :)

AdminGodzillaMar-06-2014 12:15 PMGuys, we already have a thread on this exact scene and the red smoke right here:
http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/32157
I'm not going to close this one because there's already plenty replies to it, but please be mindful of where to put your thoughts and when its necessary to make a new thread. Just because you have a new idea on a past thread doesn't justify making a new one.
Just a reminder that we're trying to keep things a little more organized and a little less cluttered around here. Thanks.
