It'll have a few humorous moments, but in the end, I think said moments will be more awkward than actually funny. They might warrant that uneasy chuckle, but nothing HAHA! as far as I can speculate.

Deviation is not shameful. Conforming is.

Maybe we'll see a character that's a bit of a "smartass" in the movie, that's the only way that we might see humor.

I hope we have humor. Like the Lord of the Rings trilogy had. They were able to have humor at like the battles and stuff and it the movie even better.

And let's be honest... the only humor from the previous movies was bad acting and the scene where Godzilla blasted the guy from World War ll in G vs King Ghidorah(1991)

i doubt there are gonna be any humorous scenes, considering that the marketing for the movie's theme throughout has been consistently dark, and also relates very much to the forces of nature that affect our lives in reality?

Having said that, I can imagine it would be hilarious if Godzilla and the Mutos were roaring and preparing for a face-off amidst the destruction when they suddenly stop and start talking and arguing instead. O.o

I could see a quip or two exchanged between Aaron Taylor Johnson and his comrades.

Or maybe comical scene/remark about the lopsidedness of a fight, like Godzilla vs the smaller Muto, or Godzilla being unaffected by a military strike.

But that's about it. The movie can't be too overloaded with jokes, or else it will sacrifice it's tone.

However, with absolutely zero comic relief, the dark movies can get burdensome. Even Nolan movies, which inspired this trend of dark realism in films have good enough sense to have a couple jokes in there. I imagine Godzilla will do the same.

A parade float of the 1998 Zilla with Roland Emmerich and Matthew Brodrick on it being crushed by the Godzilla 2014's foot.

That would complete the entire movie.

@DANNYBLAZOR That scene from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah wasn't for comic relief. I can see why many found it funny, but if you think about it more deeply, you'll realize that it's actually quite an emotional moment.

As for the humor in Godzilla 2014, I'm going with what everyone else is saying: just a few scattered jokes that provide a much-needed break from all the seriousness but don't detract from the tone of the film, like the Nolan Batman trilogy.

Hmm. Now this is quite compelling. Humor within the film is, to some extent, likely. That being said, I've a stron therg doubt that there will be anything to make the audience laugh. There's likely to be a few moments that make us give a half-smile or a soft chuckle - but nothing too over-the-top. The film's tone, from what I can tell, is far too serious to support highly-comical scenes. That's just this girl's opinion, though; take it with a grain of salt. :)
