Using Comic Con Footage in the Trailer

I find it strange that they used parts of the 2012 comic con footage in the actual teaser trailer. Does this mean that those scenes will be incorporated into the actual film? Like, as the aftermath of the entire destruction of San Francisco? And no, I don't mean that I think that the multi armed monster will be in the movie, I'm just speculating about the scenes of destroyed buildings and the completely mangled train. If they were to incorporate those shots into the film, then that would be great in my opinion, since they look incredibly real.
