MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 3:44 PMI believe he will be slow and imposing...I think he'll move in almost a serpent like pattern...swaying side to side. In the Encounter Footage, he seemed to sway a little bit...and I know it looked like he was going really slow in the fotoage, but considering his size, he is moving quite fast.
When the time comes to move, I think this Godzilla will be alot like an Alligator or Crockodile, very short bursts of fast speed. I think that everytime he is about to strike a foe or at something else, he will tense up, maybe even some how make himself look bigger. Alot animals will tense up to make themselves appear much bigger than they really are. He will tense up...to store energy possibly. Then, he will strike really fast. He may even have a short sprint.
Overall, I don't believe that he will be running much...more of an ominous trudge...but when the moment calls for quickness and speed...he can move fast, but only for a limited time.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 4:13 PMYes he will move slow in the movie, look at how big he is. The Pacific Rim kaijus and jaegors did move slow when walking, but would be pretty fast when running, but it doesnt really mean theyre fast when running. Theyre much smaller than Godzilla which makes theyre weight and height capable of running.
Godzilla I dont suppose will be capable enough to run in the new movie, because we know for sure hes going to be above 400 ft, most likely 500 feet, and that sounds way too big and too heavy to be able to walk fast or run.
So yeah point is, just look at my profile picture lol and even look at the teaser trailer, the way Godzilla's walking, it seems Godzilla will most likely be slow.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 6:16 PMI hope he moves like a bear. No, I don't mean I hope he moves on all fours, I mean that I hope he moves slowly and intimidatingly for most of the movie. And then for the fight scenes, he'll have these short bursts of running or charging at his opponent.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 6:31 PMI hope he move a medium pace so I can acually see Godzilla who agrees

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 6:45 PMWell from the movies we know that Godzilla tends to wade through cities at a pretty slow pace but is perfectly capable of moving at a pretty quick speed when he needs to, so I'd have to agree with the above comments

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 11:05 PMGuys, Godzilla's speed has nothing to do with how big he is.
The key to his speed, or lack thereof, is his structure and the shape of his body. If the new toy is to be believed as official and close to the final design (if not spot on), then Godzilla will be more of a lumbering giant like he was in the 1954 film. Slow and steady steps, no real sway save for the natural lean from one side to the other that comes with all bipedal creatures. Every step we take gives us a slight lean to that side to compensate for the change of our center of gravity with the step. Godzilla will do something similar due to being bipedal. If Godzilla were quadroupedal, then he'd sway much more like a crocodile or an alligator because that's how they're built.
But this one is built bipedally, and as such he will walk in a very similar way to his original form in 1954.
