The long awaited short featuring the new Jet Jaguar suit finally has a trailer! Check out the description and trailer below!
The fourth installment following last year's "Godzilla Fest 3 Gigan Attack"! [Director] Nakagawa reunited at Toho Studio in late August [for the production].
[It features] the Jet Jaguar suit produced in the "Jet Jaguar Suit Reproduction Project" carried out as part of the Jet Jaguar 50th Anniversary project, and the one used in the second festival special effects "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" and the third "Godzilla Fest 3 Gigan Attack". Additionally, using the Godzilla suit from the movie "Godzilla Final Wars", and taking advantage of Jet Jaguar's humanoid characteristics, we have achieved a powerful battle full of speed that has never been seen before in festival special effects.
A fierce action battle unfolds. So, what will happen in the battle between Godzilla and Jet Jaguar? Will Jet Jaguar's conscience circuit work? And what shocking development awaits at the end...! ?
The short is directed by Kazuhiro Nakagawa who directed the last two Godzilla Festival shorts: Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Godzilla Fest 3: Gigan Attack. He was an assistant director on the Attack on Titan live action films, Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman. Additionally, he directed shorts for Godzilla theme park attractions including, Godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4-D and the zip line attraction, Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji. He's also directed two episodes of Ultraman Z during the pandemic.
The new Jet Jaguar suit was constructed by suit maker Shinichi Wakasa. Wakasa was responsible for a variety of Heisei series adversaries, including Rodan ('93), MechaGodzilla ('93), SpaceGodzilla and Destoroyah. He also constructed the Millennium Series Godzilla suits (sans "GMK") and the new Gigan suit from last year's Gigan Attack. The new suit is based specifically on the 1973 Jet Jaguar suit seen in Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973) originally built Nobuyuki Yasumaru and Tomoki Kobayashi, both who were also responsible for the 1973 Godzilla suit, Megalon and Showa MechaGodzillas.
This is one of two shorts that will premiere during the festival. A trailer for the CG animated Godzilla vs. Megalon was recently released as well. Both shorts will premiere online during the live Godzilla Festival 2023 live stream, on Godzilla Day, November 3rd!
