MemberGodzillaJul-19-2015 3:41 PMI would like to be perfectly clear in order to avoid any misconceptions with regards to my personal feelings on this matter: the very idea of Godzilla "teaming up" with the PPDC is, simply put, patently ludicrous. The franshises (in my opinion) should remain separate in order to avoid conceptual "muddying". Purity is the surest method by which to ensure longevity. :)

MemberTitanosaurusJul-19-2015 4:19 PMYES! I WANT TO SEE THIS HAPPEN!!!

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-19-2015 4:25 PMI have an idea for a crossover, I've said this on facebook posts a few times so you might remember it if you've seen it.
So what happens is the aliens from Pacific Rim were not completely wiped out and what happens is they go to Godzillas dimension and they take him and teleport him to the Pacific Rim dimension to try and get him to destroy everything on the world. Then the PPDC finds out that theres a kaiju so they send out a Jaeger. The Jaeger finds the Kaiju (Godzilla) and trys to attack it but doesn't have too much of an affect on him and Godzilla gets a little pissed and destroys the Jaeger but the crew did not die. Godzilla ends up returning to the bottom of the sea as nothing is really going on and the aliens figure out that Godzilla can not be controlled because well... hes Godzilla. So what happens is they end up making new Kaiju (or however they are made) and they send them to the Earth to kill Godzilla and the humans but Godzilla notices balance being put out of place as the Kaijus are attacking so Godzilla ends up going to fight them and naturally the PPDC sends out Gipsy and some other Jaegers. Once they arrive they notice Godzilla is fighting the Kaiju and make the conclusion that Godzilla is not a threat to them, so they end up teaming up. During the fight Gipsy and the other Jaegers are starting to get torn up (crap ton of Kaiju that they are fighting) so all of the other Jaegers are sent back to base but Gipsy stays behind as Gipsy is not as damaged as they are. After a little while they realize that Gipsy isn't going to make it back so what they do is they set Gipsy to nuclear detanation and depart from Gipsy and get away (not sure how but somehow) and it obliterates most of the kaiju but there were still some coming through. All of the radiation from the explosion was absorbed by Godzilla and Godzilla ends up using the Spiral Ray to kill the remaining Kaijus. After they are killed another portal ends up opening and Godzilla fell into it and it dropped him back in his own world (couldn't think of a good way for Godzilla to get back so thats the best I could come up with.
Well thats my idea of a possible crossover. Yes there are problems with it, yes I did not say how the aliens themselves were stopped but I couldn't think of anything so if you have suggestions feel free to add onto my idea for the missing parts in it.

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-19-2015 4:39 PMNormally, I'd at least consider a rumor like this, but this was reported by KDramastars, whose stories I wouldn't even take with a grain of salt. KDramstars is the same site that reported the fake post-credits scene for Godzilla 2014 with Mothra supposedly leading an army of M.U.T.O.s, as well as claiming that Mechagodzilla was confirmed for Godzilla 2. KDramastars literally just fabricates stories about movies and reports on them, hoping that they become widespread rumors and attract readers to the site. I think we should just nip this in the bud before it becomes like the Mothra rumor and ignore it.

Super Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-20-2015 2:24 AMI like the thought of Godzilla working alongside with (or at least not intentionally harming) humans, but maybe not like this. The origins of the kaiju vs Godzilla's is where I think the main conflict would be. It's highly unlikely that this movie would ever be made, but I'd still see it, if it came out.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-20-2015 9:56 AMIt's KDramaStars reporting the rumor. I can say with 100% certanty that this is fake, and in my opinion a poor sourse for the a basis of an article here, but it is very nicely written!

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-20-2015 11:36 AMI will say I'm not against a Godzilla/Pacific Rim crossover, though I think it should be after Legendary's trilogy is concluded and include a rebooted Godzilla continuity to fit in with Pacific Rim's universe. However, what I am saying is that this is clearly fake, because as I and other users have said before, everything KDramastars reports is fabricated, especially when it comes to Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-20-2015 11:54 AMI would love this!

MemberGodzillaJul-20-2015 2:11 PMIf the cinematic world were to be compared to culinary achievements, a Godzilla/Pacific Rim crossover film could be likened to a bag of Dorritos. Junk food; pure junk food.

MemberTitanosaurusJul-20-2015 6:18 PMI really want to see this if it is true. If not, then it was a nice dream.

JRR
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-20-2015 9:24 PMby the remote chance its true it would ruin the new Godzilla series, it would be ok in an animated sereis or comic not related to the 2014 versoin but to conect it to the legendary series would make a huge mess in the timeline and would leave huge plot holes

gojira19
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-21-2015 4:25 PMI do not mind if they do a crossover, only if it is well developed and gives a good plot with truly developed characters. The films wich are focused more in the action sequences are kinda hollow, because lacks of true value or content.
But seriously, why try to put 'chose your pronoun' for Godzilla? I know in Japan the films label the monsters neutrally without specifying a gender including Godzilla, but I remember there was an statement said by Toho that the females in G franchise are Mothra, Megaguirus and Biollante, and all the others can be considered males.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-21-2015 6:41 PMYou know what? This article managed to spur up a conversation. Congratulations to the OP. I'm not trying to troll here, but the fact that the write up didn't sound professional at all, and these "rumors" have been around since the release of Godzilla last year, with no one from Legendary coming forward, on their own, to even suggest that such a thing could happen.
Think about it - it the topic's ever been brought up, it's been some fan, or an enthused interviewer. The answer's always been the same: "It'd be cool." Period.
The last thing we need are fan-fictions running rampant. The last time that happened, we got "50 Shades of Grey".
Having said that, it'd be a nice idea if done properly, specially on the heels of Power Rangers, Transformers, and the other kaiju/mecha/super team movies that should've come out by then.

MemberAnguirusJul-22-2015 10:13 AMSorry man, this isnt 1 bit true. A friendly tip for the future: Never trust or believe anything from KDramaStars :)

Danzilla93
MemberBaragonJul-22-2015 9:28 PMI'm not falling for any more KDrama CRAP, and neither should you. But as a concept... HELL YES, I'D LOVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!! Of course, tying the Pacific Rim universe with Gareth Edward's Godzilla universe is 100% impossible for innumerable reasons, so it would have to be a new Godzilla introduced in a future Pacific Rim film, with a story completely seperate from any Godzilla that came before. It would have to work the same way as the relationship between the Batman in the Dark Knight Trilogy, and the Batman set to appear in Batman vs Superman: two different versions of the character in two different universes. So its not an impossible concept to achieve successfuly.
So the rumor? Untrue. But the concept? All of the awesome. :)
