Following our report earlier today regarding Empire Magazine's upcoming issue which featured a new image of Rodan and interview with Mike Dougherty, a low quality scan of the issue has made its way online and offers us a good look at one of the new images of Godzilla rising out of the Ocean!

It may not be the case, but it does look like the dorsal spikes on Godzilla in this new image are the same style as the 2014 dorsal spikes, not the revised style of the spikes witnessed so far. We speculate this image could be of a flashback sequence, or throughout the course of the film, Godzilla will "evolve" and develop the 1954-inspired upgraded dorsal spikes. Either way, it's worth considering:
