Get ready Godzilla fans! A new Godzilla game will be releasing on the PlayStation 4 gaming console this summer and will focus primarily on a brawler-style online multiplayer, where you and your friends will be able to battle each other online and play as various Monsters from the Godzilla universe! Not only that, but the campaign will also focus on users playing as other Kaiju, other than Godzilla - unlike the upcoming Godzilla PS3 title, Godzilla The Game. This new online-focussed game will be title Godzilla VS. Read on for more info!
According to Siliconera, Godzilla VS. was announced in this week's issue of Famitsu magazine:
"While we already have a Godzilla game for PS3 and PS4 by Bandai Namco, which is headed Westward later this Summer, this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine announced a new title, called Godzilla VS. [Thanks, Game Jouhou]
Meanwhile, the previous Godzilla game was only released for PlayStation 3 in Japan, but similar to the West, Japan will also get a PlayStation 4 version later this year.
As for Godzilla VS., in addition to Godzilla, all the other kaiju will be playable characters. There will also be missions that will require you to fight with three monsters at a time.
Space Godzilla will be a new character, and the game will feature a competitive online versus mode, too."
The official Godzilla The Game Facebook page posted up a video of some multiplayer footage as well, showing off various match-ups between different Kaiju and yes, Legendary's Godzilla (2014) will be a playable character as well! Watch the preview footage below!
