The official trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 has arrived, debuting plenty of monster footage and revealing clues about the series' plot! Not only that, the trailer also introduces a massive Leviathan creature known as Titan X – bigger than Kong and even Godzilla! This article details the things we've learned from this new teaser and what it means for the upcoming season of Legendary's Monsterverse series!
The Rift

The Rift is a portal between dimensions, creating a door into another world. Based on the footage shown, it looks like the Rift is opened while inside the Axis Mundi – the realm between Earth and the Hollow Earth. It sounds like Monarch are responsible for this opening of the Rift, causing at least one massive new monster to pass through.
Titan X

Titan X is a massive Cthulu-like, Lovecraft inspired Kaiju. It is larger than both Godzilla and Kong. Blending aesthetics of a giant Whale, Squid and Octopus, this new monster comes from a different world – passing through the opened Rift. This massive new threat manages to make its way from Axis Mundi, back to Earth where it wrecks havoc for the surface and for mankind.

Physical features of Titan X include massive tentacles, fins, dorsal spikes. A huge horn on the front of its head and a dual-iris within its eyes. Cave paintings teased in the trailer suggest Iwi or another ancient Human culture have knowledge about Titan X and perhaps once worshipped it as an ancient god.

Monster Mites

The trailer shows a quick cut-scene of these large dog-sized bugs crawling through an island village. I suspect these ccrustacean-like insectoid monsters are a form of aquatic mite which travel on the body of the Leviathan. We don't yet have an official name for these creatures, but they are very reminiscent of the Kaiju Mites from Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.
Godzilla

We only get one magnificent shot of Godzilla in this trailer and it's a quick shot of him roaring in a cityscape. The perspective and cinematography remind us a lot of Gareth Edwards' 2014 original film in that moment.
Kong

Unlike Godzilla's limited screen time, Kong was featured in a number of shots in this trailer. This may be an indication to reinforce our report about Season 2 focusing more on Kong than Godzilla. The shots of Kong in the trailer seem to remain confined to Skull Island.
Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is definitely taking the series to a new level. Teasing a much darker atmosphere the next season brings larger scale and plenty of monster action compared to season 1.
