The latest episode of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters featured the lengthiest Monster battle yet – and a match-up we've been waiting for since episode 1 of the current season. In the 8th episode of Monarch S2, Titan X (also known as Co‘cai) makes landfall to lay an egg. Aided by her Scarabs, she positions herself on a secluded beach to protect her unhatched offspring, but due to actions by Lee Shaw, her plans are interrupted. Godzilla is hailed to her exact location, prompting the two Titans to clash – Godzilla thinking Titan X is infringing on his territory and Titan X defending her young.
All the while, Apex Cybernetics hatch a plan (sorry) to steal Co‘cai's egg while the two Titans do battle. Apple TV have published the entire fight scene online so fans can watch the battle over and over, check it out:
Sentiment shift for Titan X
This latest episode shed more light on the nature of Titan X and her motivations for surfacing. We learned that she was following an ancient migratory route, looking for her breeding ground. However thanks to Apex Cybernetics' interference, she was thrown off course, left confused and concerned. Ironically, the battle with Godzilla is not one fans were hoping for, with viewers feeling empathetic and sad for Titan X – watching a mother desperately try to protect her young from an impending and formidable force.
The episode concluded with Apex Cybernetics successfully stealing Co‘cai's egg, prompting Titan X to break focus off of Godzilla and shifting into a pursuit to save her unborn hatchling.
