Megumi Odaka, best known for playing Miki Saegusa in the Heisei Godzilla series (Godzilla vs. Biollante [1989], Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah [1991], Godzilla vs. Mothra [1992], Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II [1993], Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla [1994], Godzilla vs. Destoroyah [1995]), recently teased an upcoming project on Twitter. She doesn't divulge much beyond the project being kept under a tight lip, but the image of her with Godzilla Jr. from Godzilla vs. Destoroyah seems to indicate it's Godzilla-related.
Speculation has run rampant from the possibility of her being in the upcoming Godzilla / Jet Jaguar short film--or even an entirely different, unannounced short film. Some even believe she is part of the yet-officially-titled Godzilla film opening this November. She also stars in the upcoming indie-kaiju film, Hoshi 35 which wrapped filming in early June, however that film is hardly "top secret". Whatever the case may be, she hopes we'll know more this Fall--which is suspiciously close to Godzilla Day, November 3, 2023.
Last year, Megumi Odaka returned to the Godzilla franchise in Gemstone's Godzilla vs. Gigan Rex. Her opening narration has led to speculation that the short takes place in the Heisei series continuity.
