The new Monsterverse TV series currently in the works has found its director! Matt Shakman has been hired on to helm the live action Godzilla series for Apple TV and Legendary, according to a fresh report by Variety!
Variety reports Shakman will direct the first two episodes and then act as executive producer for the remainder of the series. The news also confirms earlier reports that the Monsterverse TV series would take place between Godzilla (2014) and Mike Dougherty's sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019.
Matt Shakman is more recently known for his work directing the Marvel series WandaVision for Disney+.

From Toho, Takashi Yamazaki is directing a sequel to Godzilla Minus One and is currently in development! The next film will act as a direct follow-up and will even include more Monsters!
