A plethora of new Monsterverse announcements and Godzilla figures were revealed this past week. The most notable of the new reveals was the delaying of multiple Godzilla vs. Kong books. The film's official art book "The Art of Godzilla vs. Kong" has been delayed until May 21st, 2021 and the children's book "Godzilla vs. Kong: Sometimes Friends Fight (But They Always Make up After) has been delayed until April 6th, 2021.
Neither of these moves are confirmation by any means that Godzilla vs. Kong will be pushed back from its current release date of November 20th, 2020. Instead, they are just a "possible" indicator that the date "could" be changed. You can read more about these release changes in Scified's recap.
Another piece of major Godzilla vs. Kong news was revealed during Legendary Comics WonderCon@Home digital panel. During the event, several new pieces of artwork showcasing both Kong and Camazotz were shown off. These images give us our best looks yet at the winged Titan Camazotz and at "Adult Kong" with his beard.
X-Plus has unveiled a new Large Monster Series Godzilla (2019) figure. There will be a normal and RIC version of the figure available, with the RIC variant featuring a blue light-up gimmick for the eyes and dorsal fins. Both figures will be released in August, with the standard costing approximately $168 and the RIC around $184. You can view the full gallery for the figures here.
X-Plus also released the first official images of their new DefoReal Burning Godzilla (2019) RIC version figure. The RIC variant of the figure will feature a clear molding on the body that will make the figure appear as if it is luminescent. The figure will be released in October for approximately $74.
Lastly, the first images of the new NECA Godzilla 2014 reissue figure have surfaced online. The images originated from an EBay listing, and NECA has since officially confirmed that they are real via multiple Instagram DMs. A release date for the figure isn't currently known, but expect it to arrive on shelves soon.
