This week Japan will celebrate Godzilla's 61st Anniversary with a two day festival that spans across two cities.
Thanks to Gormaru Island for the details regarding the festivities, November 2nd will include screenings at both Tokyo's Humax Cinemas and Kyoto's South Hall.
In Tokyo, War of the Gargantuas (1966), Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989), Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) and King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) will dominate the day. (The last movie of this location is no doubt influenced by recent annoucments of a remake.)
Meanwhile, Kyoto will screen Terror of MechaGodzilla (1975), Godzilla x Megaguirus (2000) and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995).
The November 2nd screenings take place at the same time, thus fans would have to choose which to attend.

Crunchyroll reports that November 3rd, Godzilla's birthday, Tachikawa Cinemas will hold a special screening for the original masterpiece Godzilla (1954) followed by the critically acclaimed Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001) with director Shusuke Kaneko in attendance for a live talk/Q&A.

In addition to Kaneko will be comedian Yakan Nabe, popular kaiju artist Shinji Nishikawa and game designer/programmer Kazuki Hashitani.
It is expected that Toho will make a Shin-Godzilla announcement during the festival, but there is currently no confirmation on that at all. Fingers crossed we get some new bite of information.

Any fans across the pond going to these screenings? Which screenings would you go to on November 2nd if given the opportunity? Kyoto? Or Toyko? What do you think of the November 3rd festivities? And do you intend to do to celebrate the Big G's 61st? Let us know in the comments!
