The Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire sequel has found its new director after Adam Wingard exited the franchise for another venture! The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Grant Sputore will helm the next Monsterverse movie! Sputore is mostly known for his work directing the 2019 science fiction film I Am Mother.
The new Monstervese feature is described as a continuation of the franchise centering Godzilla, Kong and an assortment of other Titans. The script comes from prolific genre scribe Dave Callaham, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
While plot details remain unknown, plans prior to Wingard's departure were to focus the next film more on Godzilla's story arc over Kong's however with the change of hands, those plans might also change.
