It's been largely unnoticed by the press, but there's actually a new Godzilla video game in development,
City Shrouded in Shadow was announced all the way back in 2015 for the PS4 and Vita, although it doesn't yet have a release date. As it's name suggests, it's a horror game in which you have to escape from a city which has suddenly become overrun with monsters and covered by a giant, mysterious shadow. And then there's the small matter of Godzilla joining the fray...
Godzilla's appearance in City Shrouded in Shadow will be 100% licensed and official, as publisher Bandai Namco currently own the video game rights to the character. And it comes as no surprise that they would include him in the game to increase sales. He is, after all, quite possible the most famous fictional creature of all time. This article includes images of Godzilla as he appear sin the game (thanks to Gematsu for the heads up).
And that's not all. The giant Evangelion mecha from the manga series of the same name and the popular Japanese superhero Ultraman (who has the power to increase his size drastically) will also both appear in City Shrouded in Shadow. It seems like Bandai Namco are trying to shoe horn in every iconic character within their grasp to ensure that copies fly off shelves, but I sure ain't complaining. Godzilla, Evangelion and Ultraman all in the same game? Count me in.
