An overnight double-feature of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Godzilla Minus One will be screened on over 109 Screen X locations in Japan on the night of April 26th. This kicks off both Godzilla x Kong's release weekend in Japan and Golden Week. Godzilla x Kong will screen first at 11:00PM followed by Godzilla Minus One after a 20 minute intermission.
Golden Week is a long week of Japanese Holidays from Monday, April 29th-Sunday, May 5th. The festivities kick off early this Friday with the double feature of Godzilla x Kong and Minus One as well as a rerelease of Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color.
The massive popularity of Godzilla Minus One in Japan should help Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire to achieve an excellent opening weekend, and Godzilla x Kong being a new release is expected to bring repeat business to Minus One. Both movies being pushed during Golden Week should give them a massive boost at the Japanese box office.
