Warning: This article contains spoilers from the latest Godzilla anime film, currently streaming on Netflix.
The sequel to Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters will be making rounds at upcoming Japanese conventions this winter. Netflix released Planet of the Monsters to a world wide audience on January 17th--In the meantime Japan has been gearing up for the anticipated follow-up.
Although the sequel has yet to be given an official English title, sources loosely translate the film, Godzilla: Decisive Battle, Mobile Breeder City. (Others translate it as the more likely, Godzilla: The City Mechanized for the Final Battle.) The sequel has had little more publicity than a vague release date (May) and a teaser poster featuring MechaGodzilla. Very soon, fans will get more information on the upcoming anime feature.
The Official Godzilla Anime Trilogy website has announced that the next film will have a presentation at Winter Wonder Festival 2018. On February 18th, the convention will unveil a model of Godzilla Earth (the 300m Godzilla that surprises Haruo's team at the end of the first film) and various Earth Federation weapons.
On March 25th, Anime Japan 2018 will welcome cast members Mamoru Miyano (Haruo Sakaki), Takahiro Sakurai (Metphies), Tomokazu Sugita (Martin Lazzari), Yuki Kaji (Adam Bindewald), and Junichi Suwabe (Mulu Elu Galu Gu) to talk about the sequel.
